100% agree with above. Amazing amount of toque down low. Haven't pushed it beyond 5K yet but I don't need it for normal daily driving! My '10 STI was more sluggish with power delivery with turbo lag and stuff. BRZ is not fast but quick and not underpowered at all.

Another trend I've noticed is that people who complain it about it being sluggish seem to always be driving the AT. Just sayin...

6th gear on highway at 70mph, was able to accelerate up hill with barely any throttle. No need to downshift - so even at low rpms, it still moves easily (and 80mph comes on WAY too easily if you're just coasting and not paying close attention!)

Ok, here people said it's not sluggish, it's true it's not sluggish as it's NA and it moves no matter what RPM you are at. The gas pedal is accurate and not like an on/off switch as the Genesis Coupe's.
But I think what the OP asking is does it feel fast. No, absolutely feels slow in the straight line, doesn't feel as fast as a camry I4 (push in the back) to me, i think because of less weight transfer and lower CoG. It definetly bothers me as I was expecting it might be at least somewhere better than an Integra GSR, but it doesn't feel that way, no where close to an Integra Type-R in the feel of explosiveness. But that's OK, just try to put it in sideway most of time, then you will forget the power deficit BTW, i drove AT with M gate, Sport on, VSC off |

I test drove the AT FR-S and it felt fine to me. There was even a ~200 lb guy in the passenger seat. I too was worried about it not having enough power but after my test drive, and considering that I will be getting the MT and driving by myself 99% of the time (always alone T_T), I'm pretty sure I will be satisfied. But as Quik said, you will have to be the judge of that.

I'm having no problems merging onto the freeway. I try to keep my RPM's below 4k for now... but I've gone past 5 a couple of times. I've only taken it to 85 mph so far. I'm not complaining. For such a slow car I'm sure getting a lot of compliments

Yeah, from what I've heard, you're going to need to get it in the 5-7k range to have power to pass.

"The feel of explosiveness" for an Integra Type-R... hmph. A quick google search shows it did 0-60 in the mid 6's and a quarter mile in the mid to high 14's. Yah, that's really explosive. How the hell is that any different from the BRZ? |

Depends how quick you want to pass. Like cross into oncoming traffic to pass? Yeah - wind it out! On the highway I kept it in 6th and was able to accelerate casually. Plenty of torque. The car isn't slow.
