Hello, new here, looking to buy a brz or a frs (leaning to brz) soon. But i got a few questions..
i've been reading some of the problems thread and it looks like there are quite a few problems with the first edition (2012) of the car. Is it going to be the same problem with the 2013 version? I am also wondering if i should wait til 2014 comes out so i can get the STI/TRD edition. |

Greetings, all. Brand new member here, although I have been lurking & reading the news articles here for a few years.
My previous ride was a Mazdaspeed3, and I knew I wanted an 86 almost as soon as I found out it had a snowball's chance of making it out of the concept car stage. But then MINI came out with their Coupé, and I felt my desires split. When the Coupé came out almost a year before the BRZ/FR-S, I jumped in & have been enjoying the motoring experience in a 2012 MINI Cooper S Coupé since October, 2011. Love the Coupé (had 2 standard MINI Cooper S hardtops prior to the MS3), but it has one achilles heel for me. The distance between the roofline & the seat is too short. Mind you, this would not be a problem if I did not have neck problems that reduce my flexibility & severely limit my ability to duck or bend my neck. For that reason, my 1992 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo (1JZ) has been getting out of the garage more & more often recently. But I can't bring myself to push that beauty into daily driver duty, so I am shopping for a Coupé replacement. Naturally, I have turned to the car I originally thought was going to replace the MS3, so here I am. I have plenty of questions & comments to make, but I'll post those in the appropriate places. For now, just a couple of quick shots of my MINI and my Supra for your viewing pleasure. Bill The MINI, with its one significant mod, 17x7 Kosei K1 TS wheels & Yokohama S-Drive 215-45-17 tires: ![]() And the Supra. This car is special to me, and I have spent irrational amounts of money to get it closer to the best shape it can possibly achieve without purely INSANE amounts of money being spent. First 2 photos from the first days & weeks after major body & paint restoration was completed: ![]() ![]() And 1 more photo after the suspension was LIFTED a full inch from where the prior owner had it (look how low it still sits, and you'll understand why I needed to lift it!) and added aftermarket wheels (5Zigen FN01R-C 18x7.5 with Hankook Ventus Evo K110's 225/45/18.

Didn't really snow enough to "test" it... But I can't stop driving it! Looking for excuses to go out and drive. Love the car, so far. All 159 miles. Glad I found this forum, already grabbed some great info.

Hello all, I'm Brandon from Charleston SC and I've had my CBS premium BRZ since October 2012. I've been out of the country for the last few months and I've missed the BRZ terribly. It's my 2nd Subaru(2010 STi before)and it's my daily at the moment. I also have a 1993.5 Supra with a 66mm single that I like to play with as well. The BRZ is currently being modified but more to come soon when it's finished. As of now, it's top secret.

New BRZ in Western MA!
Hello everyone. My name is Brian and I took delivery of my BRZ about 2 weeks in WRB.
I've been pining for a new car for a while to replace my Corolla, and the BRZ was almost an impulse buy. While I've been following this car for at least a year, as soon as I finally took it for a test drive on bored weeknight, I knew I had to have it. Luckily the exact one I wanted was only an hour drive away. I went down the next day and to my surprise I took delivery the same day! I swapped out the radio because the head unit I had in my previous car (Pioneer AVH-P8400BH) functions a lot smoother than what was in there. To avoid messing with the stock amp and subs, I hooked up 1 Alpine 10" sub with a 1000 watt mono amp. The minor weight difference was worth it to me. Although, I haven't listened to it much! I did just order the axle back exhaust from Nameless (4" muffler option) and am (im)patiently waiting for that to come in. Only other things I have planned for now is a downpipe, header, intake, tune and tint the windows. After that I just plan on driving it and enjoying it until the turbos have been tried and tested. I am also looking into some autoX in the area. ![]() ...It's also icing on the cake that my initials are BRZ
