New BRZ owner. Just got a '16 Limited in ice silver metallic. Stock, for now. Will have to see what happens. Would like to start with the short shifter first and go from there. Previous owner of an '06 Scion tC five speed with the TRD quick shift kit and then later an '05 MINI Cooper S with the six speed that I added the B&M short shifter to. It has been too long since I have had a nice fun car. Would like to possibly get a tune done.

Greetings everyone.

Been reading this forum for a few years and decided it was about time I made myself a profile, as the time is drawing near to get me one of these cars myself.

I've been waiting for some house renovation to finish up and for the prices to drop a bit before I got to the point were I am comfortable getting a second car for the household. House is finished and sold, and we are about to start all over again, but the new one is thankfully cheap enough per month that I can afford to indulge myself. And it comes with a garage big enough to work in!

So now the hunt is on for the right one. These cars were quite well received over here when new, but the size of the market means that everybody that wanted one bought it right away. This leads to 4 out of 5 cars currently on the market being the 2012/2013 cars. Every now and then a 2017/18 will pop up at a small premium compared to the older cars though, so patience is key.

Either way the wait and search is quite exciting, so we will see where we end up.

Rumor is newer models may have a turbo, but there are affordable used models out there. There are some real gems out there that have been babied.

Indeed there is, and my feeling is that these cars have mostly been with the same type of customers that have MX-5's over here, so well maintained and only driven "for fun".

The average 2013 will only have about the equivalent of 2500-3000 miles on it, while still having a full service book done by dates instead of miles.

Rumours are usually wrong!

The bulk of them here are daily drivers with piles of miles on them. The weekend warriors are generally tracked and general pushed hard. Pretty hard to find a gently used low miles one in North America.

Smile Just wanted to say hello!

Hi Everyone!

I bought my 17' White BRZ Limited 35k last month and couldn't be happier! As this is my main vehicle I am very happy with the rather mild winter we're having on the east coast so far!

Brought my car into the dealership 3 days ago because of a strange noise when shifting. Turns out my throw-out bearing is toast (Nice surprise after only having the car for a few weeks) I have read the threads created on this topic previously and luckily I've been told by the dealership that it is being covered under warranty.

Anyways, just wanted to say hello to everyone!

Even with winters tires, more than an 1" of snow (on the road) is almost undrivable.. other than that full send!

New owner of a ‘14 BRZ - got it last month from a dealer auction, finally got it all cleaned up, new Alpine W650 etc installed and totally loving it!
Ironically it is my first auto transmission car ever, taking some getting used to but much better than I expected!

What? You must get very different snow than us. I have gone through as much as 14" and haven't found the limit yet.

B.S. any car starts snow plowing when the snow is higher than front bumper. My STi on Blizzaks wouldn't make through 14"... a lifted Jeep maybe? Or maybe 14" means 14 centimeters in Canada?

I did not say it didn't snow plow. I said I had no issue with it. It was fluffy snow not wet soggy slop.

Yup, experienced it first week, have winter tires, but when snow was at bumper level or higher not pleasant to drive at all...still did...didn’t sound too good either...
Now being my first auto, i was pleasantly surprised at how well the “snow” button works!
Just gave up a 2015 Mazda3 GT 6-spd for the auto 2014 BRZ...
