"Radar Love" -- Golden Earring.

I've been drivin' all night,
My hands wet on the wheel
There's a voice in my head
That drives my heel
It's my baby callin',
Says: I need you here
And it's a half past four
And I'm shifting gear

Every time I hear this song while driving, my right foot involuntarily goes to the floorboard.

I have a bit of a weird musical mix.

I mostly listen to metal/post hardcore/screamo/hard rock(Favorite from the genres respectively: All That Remains, The Ghost Inside, Bring me the horizon, Nothing More). Then I have some chill step and more ethereal stuff ranging from pink floyd to tool. Older rock like AC/DC and G&R thanks to my dad. And to round it out some pop if it has a good beat, I enjoy the beat to uptown funk but that is a windows up song lol.

I'm too lazy to go and make actual playlists so it is everything together. I did find premade playlists for the original Tony Hawk's pro skater and Need for Speed underground 2 which I use sometimes.

Holy crap dude! We couldn't be on further ends of the music taste spectrum if we tried to be.

Haha.

I actually like Manson just fine. He's not my favorite to drive by though. How about MUSE? They're excellent.

Big nope to Muse. My music taste is pretty narrow actually and what I don't like I really don't like.

Well then I'm sorry.

I'm going to have to downgrade you from "friend" to "outspoken acquaintance"...as soon as I find the button...

Seriously, I like pretty much everything. My Mother raised me on Schumann, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Debussy, Vivaldi, Bach, Corelli...(possibly a distant relation, as we share a name and most of my extended family still live in Sannicandro)...as well as all the stuff that was popular when I was in high school...Korn, Linkin Park, System of a Down, Rammstein, Eve6, The Offspring, Prodigy, Green Day, Moby...etc...

Shoot, I'm also a huge fan of Big Band and BlueGrass. About the only thing I absolutely can't handle is modern Country and Western. I was traumatized pretty badly at my previous workplace-five years in a shop full of rednecks all playing the same local Country/Western station. I have some serious PTSD from that sh*t.

I sort of go through seasons though. At the moment it's mostly Ludovico, MUSE, BOND and BEIRUT. I guess those ARE just a bit on the weird side as far as driving music.

If I'm alone in the car, it could be anything from Alice in Chains to John Zorn, via BBNG or Morphine or maybe David Sylvian, if I'm feeling mellow. If the wife is in the car, then more than likely she'll have control of the tunes and be playing Madison Violet, The Be Good Tanyas or The Wailin' Jennies. Yup, she sure likes them countrified ladies.

For me it pretty much depends on where I am and what the road is like. Recently in Arkansas on a nice spirited drive of the Pig Trail (part that's still open - 16 miles up, 16 miles back down) the only things that seemed to fit were RHCP and AC/DC. For the rest of the trip on more sedate roads it was Depeche Mode, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, Tower of Power, old Wildflowers, New Order, Allison Krouse/Robert Plant...
