Hey flender you just need to upgrade the sound system to something like OEM plus 400. I can't believe the stock audio in my frkn RAV4 is better then the stock in ours and by a good margin too... The stock sounds is all over the places & super unclear.

While that may be true, our cars weren't exactly engineered with sound system quality as a primary focus.

But but speedy speedy boy just isnt enjoyable at all on stock system! problem is I didn't think sound quality was important at all in rav4 too.... I guess they just have more free money floating around for developing ... X.x rant over.

Music is pretty much useless in my FRS with its exhaust system and the cars poor sound insulation qualities... And with windows down forget about it...can't hear any detail - windows up only, and even then still very crappy and undefined at anything over a crawl and low throttle.

Even so, I do have a mainly Soh Yoshioka and other Vocaloid driving mix playlist for the drive to work...even though it sounds like crap unless the car is parked and off and at a medium volume. Rocking on my Home audio system though my reference headphones the songs are incredible though...

I'd love to upgrade the sound system...but it would be way too much work and kinda defeat the purpose of the car IMO... I'm all about taking weight out not adding any unnecessary weight.

You don't have to add huge subs (or any subs for that matter) to get better sound quality despite what many think.

Sub would really make it worse as is....for an FRS you really need to add acoustic damping material and upgrade the stock speakers to improve the audio quality across the whole frequency spectrum, because stock its bad/sloppy/flat sounding across all frequencies. I'd much rather have the windows down and listen to the sound my SRT exhaust makes anyways....

It makes better sense to just have a good portable media player with excellent in-ear phones for an FRS... isolates most of the noise that is the FRS/road/wind and you can clearly hear the music in more detail at a very reasonable level. A car is one of the most non-ideal common acoustic environment for listening to music anyways...the FRS being the worst ever I've had for interior acoustics. I'm actually concerned about some long term hearing loss from it's interior, hence another reason why in-ear phones would be a good idea (they act as sound suppressors and reduce the dB level you have thrown at your ears from the FRS interior.)

I'm almost always ridin' SLAB with some Houston underground rap. Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Paul Wall, UGK, and of course DJ Screw, just to name a few.

I like to listen to songs like Butterfly by Bassnecter or Chasing Midnight and drive by Moog. Great cruising music and or when I want to get on it. what does anyone else listen to when going for a drive?

Agreed, top 2 ever show for me, blew a lot of big names out of the water in my book (RHCP, McCartney, Muse, Neil Young, Arcade Fire and OutKast were there as well and it was no contest).
