I don't smell it after driving normal. If I keep the revs at around 4-5 I smell it when I get out. I have 7700 miles now. Only started really playing with my car in the last 1000 miles...

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but my engine is smelling extremely hot, and it only started at around 4k miles. It seems to be getting worse.

Engine runes fine, but the scent is getting so bad it's concerning.

Took it to the dealer but they barely looked at it before blowing me off. Am I being paranoid or should I harp on them to find out where it's coming from?

Burning smell is just the new parts I would assume. I had 7 miles on my car when I got it and I'm just above 220 now. Still a slight smell to it but it is getting weaker the more I drive it. Just breaking in the parts!

I realized that every time I smelled it I had been driving spiritedly, so I figure it is the tires. I am at 8500.

Hmm. I'm just concerned since I never really smelt it before until yesterday. I was only driving on the highway RPM's at 4k max. I'm due for an oil change at the dealer I can have them take a look at it

I'm at 8700 and think it must be the tires. But even if it's not the twisties I still get the burning smell. Must just be from them trying to grip sudden speed changes (like a 6-4 downshift when passing or something)

I smelled burning when my car had 7 miles on it up to about 150. Haven't smelt a thing past everything breaking in.
