Very good deal. They are quiet and I'd say more comfortable than the VERY hard stock Michelins.

No problem.

The Bridgestones are cheaper and better in every way, I doubt they'd last as long as the Michelins but then probably nothing else would.

There was def a 'slight' improvement,

I don't think you would be able to notice a significant improvement in handling, but I have been to Zwartkops for my last 2 track days, so this being the 3rd consecutive time trying it out, I noticed a more comfortable turn in at the hairpin at Turn 2.

I can't really substantiate by faster track times, but the feeling is better turning into tight corners.

Def worth this mod (Camber bolts)

Lastly, what app are you guys using that measures the lap times?
-General: If its your first track day, you really don't need to change anything except brake fluid.
I did my first track day this July on stock brakes and tyres, and I know allot of guys that also did this. The learning experience is incredible, and you won't be going flat out(hopefully!), so you should be safe.

- Tyres: If you get Potenza RE002's you don't have to have 2 sets for road and track, because you can drive them to work every day and track and you will still get decent mileage compared to semi slicks(daily use).

-Brakes: Powerbrake PTA (Endless PB05's)

-Lap timing devices: There's a few free apps. I use Harry's laptimer.
Ive seen cooler free apps, which shows you your driving line etc, provided you have a external GPS for accuracy.

I couldn't get my harry's laptimer to work properly. It only recorded 11 laps and it never recorded a lot of video, but my phone is low on memory and I think that is the reason. My best recorded lap was 1:23 if I did better than that I will never know.

I enjoyed chasing down the silver Audi but eventually I had to back off to create room. After being spoiled at Red Star with an empty track Z was more challenging. Getting a clean lap proved to be frustrating. I also didn't want to be "that guy" that never lets the quicker cars past so I found myself backing off to allow for overtakes.

I also went for a drive with Kaidan, and I tried table top in third, I think it works quite well because it forces you to carry more speed and it feels smoother. In 2nd the revs are high and you need to be quite precise with the throttle to keep them there and the car feels more unstable as it responds faster if you get my meaning. He also showed me taking turn 1 flat out which I later tried but my stock tyres did not inspire confidence at all so I ended up just keeping constant throttle. Turning in too early was also an issue for me, it really makes a big difference to wait a bit more and turn in later.

Thanks @FT_86_SM_GP for providing me with some fuel at the end of the track day, at the petrol station I filled up with 40L so I had 10L left.

Agreed with that,

Turn 1 - going flat out, I shat myself as a passenger in Kaidans going around turn 1 on 4th flat out Don't think i'll be able to do that anytime soon.

Turn 5 and Turn 6: (Table Top)
Taking the table top in 3rd gear,

I tried to do this in my last session and it was actually by best lap,

1:19.00 - wasn't trying to go flat out, but tried to do something different.

At the table top Kaidan goes wide out before he turns in, and a very smooth turn in. (i'll edit his video and try to upload tonight).

BTW @Freedom - I was behind you here dude!
You were driving bloody brilliant!

I can only imagine how much quicker you will be with semi's/upgraded brakes!

If you didn't let me pass you, I do not think I would have managed to find a place were I could!

1) Took table top(Turn 5 and 6) on 3rd gear

The real value of camber bolts is they save your tyre shoulders from getting chewed off.

Cool stuff. It should theoretically be less understeer prone at the limit.

BTW.
Tip of the day - the DOD LS430/460w dashcams have got 5hz GPS with accelerometers. You can then use Racerender to check and overlay your videos.

Here's the minimum for tracking your car safely:

Brake pads front - Endless PB05/MX72 from Powerbrake approx R2600.
I can make stock pads fade to nothing in 4-5 laps.

Brake pads rear - stock is OK

Brake fluid (essential because it's high risk) - 2 x 500ml Motul RBF660.
Alternately, any other racing DOT4 brake fluid with boiling points higher than 300°C/190°C (dry/wet)

Stock tyres are fine for learning (you go farming at lower speeds)

The common apps are Harry's or TrackAddict

This is an excellent resource for newbies to tracking - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25485

I've noticed stretched tyres also helps with protecting the shoulders.

I'm sure you would of, you were catching up. I would of liked to have followed you, but that's when my fuel ran out and I'm paranoid with running on low fuel. The tyres were really struggling to do the speed you guys are doing, you can hear and see it in my videos. I'm conflicted with getting stickier tyres though because I enjoy drifting the car and I think with stickier tyres it might be more difficult.

I noticed that I was about 10km/h faster taking tabletop in 3rd instead of 2nd and it felt like less effort too, pretty interesting.
