Hey have you guys ever done or heard of an autocross school in the area? My brother-in-law just did one today and now I'm interested in doing one too. He's got an M3 and he went to some BMW club event.

Other than SCCA Learning Curve, I have not heard of any local training events for autocross. Most events though will provide some assistance for 1st timers, so I would say go out and try it. Get rides and ride alongs with other participants that have experience.

There's also HPDE events you can attend. They're a bit more expensive, but you get a hell of a lot more seat time. Not QUITE the same as AutoX, but almost all HPDE events have a beginner class with provided instructors.

CCSCC hosts the EVO autocross school at the beginning of every season here in Urbana-Champaign. It was like two months ago though. Perhaps other divisions have similar events?
