Fullblown just PM'd me right now to tell me that their shroud now fits the stocker. Just specify that you have a stock rad.

There is no evidence thus far that a fullblown or koyo rad works better than stock rad on the track without significant airflow modifications to the frontal area and engine bay. They may work better with more airflow through the frontal area but the problem is just that, airflow.

During a recent track test on turbocharged setups almost exactly the same (only difference was one was on e85 at 330 whp and one was on 100 octane 280whp) and running the same lap times around the track, a koyo and stock rad were tested in 110 deg ambient temps. Both overheated just as fast. 2-3 hot laps was enough.

I wouldn't worry about getting a thicker rad right now. Most people think that it will automatically be better because it is bigger. It wont. You need airflow to make those thicker rads work better. Airflow mods like removing stock bumper beam, properly louvered vented hood, possibly massive spal fans and ducted frontal area.

I have been following your thread so you think this more important to have the following:

Stock rad+shroud to use spal fans and a bigger oil cooler? When you said you overheated, you mean oil temps?

Both coolant and oil.

We had to back off when seeing 230 F coolant and 260 F oil. My tuner also has a failsafe that puts me on wastegate spring pressure (6psi) when coolant gets to 230 F and oil to 260 F.

Are you planning to run this car on the road course or drive spritedly in the heat in say mountain twisties. If you are not, temps become much much less of a concern. You wont be overheating by doing a few wot pulls on the highway every once in a while.

Yes but I would say its going to be lightly tracked. Maybe 4-5 events a year. I would love to speak to you outside of this forum. Gtalk or text msging?

Events would be SoW and these size tracks. Also I would not be able to push the car nearly like Mike @ CSG or other seasoned drivers.
