This car shifts easier and smoother when I give it more gas as opposed to when I try to drive it 'economically,' lol.

There's definitely something abnormal, it should shift like butter when you're hard on it.
I adjusted it shortly after getting the car, and didn't WOT it during break in. I did the test and clutch is disengaging properly. No problem getting out of gear. Car shifts fine when driving normally. Seems like synchro related to me.

Because dealerships are notorious for blowing off minor complaints and it's not worth the headache, for many a fluid change is much less stressful than dealing with bureaucratic induced incompetence.

Edit: And for most, it's just a little rough around the edges, it's not like the tranny is going to fall out and we're seeing bits of metal falling out when we do the fluid change.

So you pay ~$30K for a new car with a warranty and just deal with the issues?

Sorry if I don't see the point in settling for a defective product when the whole point of paying more for a new car is the warranty to protect you from exactly these issues.

Honestly, most of us could change the fluid in the time it takes to even schedule an appointment with a dealership. At a certain point it's just easier and less stressful.

Risk vs. Reward

The risk of me going home with an assault charge trying to get my dealership to fix my transmission because it 'feels a bit funny' outweighs a notchy transmission imho. Not to mention that I don't trust a dealership mechanic further than I can throw them (too many screws going missing and stripped out threads and grease stains on seats and obscene charges for simple fixes).

Maybe I need to just drive one of the fabled 'smooth as butter' transmissions and I will be outraged at the mere thought of mine protesting any inputs. I honestly admit ignorance in this arena, I'm pretty happy with my transmission and it's getting better the more miles I put on it, but I won't make the claim it's smooth.

True, but after it doesn't fix the issue?

Try to find a better dealership? The same could be said of any mechanic...
