Not yet. (Knock on glass)
If a cop pulls up next to me I pretty much have to leave in 3rd gear to keep quiet.

P0420 is typical for catless systems but P0172 is telling you that you are running too rich. I wouldn't ignore this.

- Faulty front heated oxygen sensor
- Ignition misfiring
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Exhaust gas leaks
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor

Don't worry, it'll take about 20 or so miles for your ECU to relearn everything. While "completing" the 20 or so miles, try to just keep at a constant and consistent speed- it'll definitely help with your ECU relearning everything faster. This process is basically the same with the OFT, when a new map is flashed.

+1 on this

i would bet your uni-chip is playing up , check all the connections to the sensors, check its got a solid ground and +12v supply its best to run a direct groun and separate fused 12v supply, others have had similar issues due dodgy ground or 12v supply.

or the unichip itself is stuffed
remove unichip if problems gone its the unichip or installation/connections

the ECU learns in a few minutes if its been going on more than that you have a problem.

P0420 is the O2 sensor. Your car is probably running extremely rich when that CEL goes off. You need a real tune.

I get a P0172 periodically, and I can usually tell right before it happens because my car starts bogging from a stop. Take your MAF sensor out and spray it off with MAF cleaner. That fixes it for me for a few weeks.

Clearing codes doesn't reset your ecu. Usually after 50-100 miles If it's still a problem they will pop up again. Clearing the codes makes the light turn off but it doesn't make them go away unless the ecu doesn't see the problem anymore.

Does your unichip show system "ready" status? I have a scangauge and it lets me know if the system is "ready" or "not ready" after clearing codes.

P0420 is a bitch to get rid of with aftermarket exhausts. The extra flow of the exhaust fouls the O2 sensor which needs to operate at a certain temperature to work. I run an O2 sensor spacer and the code still shows up but doesn't show up as often.

Since the computer shows the 02 sensor failing it might make the car run more rich to "protect" the engine thus making you pull the other code. Running too rich chokes the engine and power, so that might be why it feels slower.

With a very high flowing exhaust I would look into some open source tuning. With open source you could even delete the P0420 code from the ECU so it doesn't show up again.

P0420 needs the rear O2 sensor deleted most of the time. Highway driving throws this code the most. Someone who city drives all the time may not see it. Deleting the rear O2 will cause you to instantly fail inspection due to the evap sensor failing the test. Its good to have two Ecutek roms:

Rom 1 is your regular tune with multiple maps with the O2 deleted

Rom 2 is your same tune, but with the O2 sensor back on, simply for inspection.

Hope this helps.

I then cleared the codes with my flux2 from my unichip. I looked up the codes, but they both seemed to be exhaust related, but I have catless headers and catless front pipe and they are the same codes that always pop up.
So after I cleared the codes, the idle corrected And stayed steady. But now when I drive it seems like the 3.5k and higher has slowed down, almost like the car is struggling to go. It's very bogged down and I can't figure out what to do.

I also researched this and couldn't find anything like this on the forum.

Unichip is your problem buddy... a lot of people have been getting this, including me. By any chance, was it really hot and/or really humid in your area when it threw the codes? Google p0172 unichip fr-s or whatever; there are threads about this. I have unhookeed my unichip a few weeks ago for exactly that reason, and the car runs slower but butter smooth, in all weather conditions.

I'll probably be looking at OFT to replace the Unichip in the medium-term.

P0420 is cat efficiency code triggered of second 02 sensor. Happens all the time with catless headers, if you had a flash tuning device you can just disable the P0420 code, no problem

Its the primary 02 sensor that does the feedback for AFR correction/monitoring.

Its likely the P0172 is due to the MAF sensor as others have suggested although unless your running an oiled filter and you over oiled it you should not need to be cleaning your maf sensor. It likely he unichip is not programmed correctly or connection to maf is faulty or the unit itself is faulty or does not have a solid earth or 12v connection.

I was leaving a car meet and that all popped up.
I've never seen the traction light solid there.
So I pull over and I have these codes
P0172
B03AF
P0D0F
B044C

Then I clear the codes with the flux and
The tach starts "dancing" and jumping. While I'm in neutral and not touching the gas. Then this pops up Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1409888178.939133.jpg

I'm so confused what's happening.
I haven't had time to take the unichip off but I'm starting to get worried

That's pretty loud. It might have my agency power exhaust beat. Any drone in the cabin?
