Just thought I'd give a little update.

Sitting at around 2400 miles on her. Oil change is coming VERY soon, just haven't had the time to actually get the parts and do it. Did have a bit of a scare today at work. At around 4:30PM est, the skies just decided to open up. Wind was at least 50+mph with very fast moving rain. Normally, I wouldn't mind too much, since my car is parked away from anything falling on it, but what really scared me was the fact that it was also hailing out as well. Granted they weren't too big. I'd say the size of a pea, if that, but as the hail continued to come down, I'm sitting inside watching my car thinking the clear coat can't survive. After the rain stops and I get home, since it was too wet still to check at work, everything looks to be ok! I'll do some more checking soon, perhaps under a different light, but I don't see anything out of the ordinary!

On the brighter side, which made me laugh, I had some kid in a yellow VW Bettle scream "sexy car" at me while at a stoplight. My friend was behind me on his bike, and when I looked at him in the mirror, he was laughing too.

Update time!!

Just passed 3000 miles on Friday!!! As days go by, I love this car just a bit more. I know that the time will come when I have to put her away for the winter and pick something up for the time being as a DD, but she won't be forgotten!

Despite other members changing their oil way before mine, I must say, there really wasn't any metal shavings in the oil, as far as I could see. A little darker then the 0W-20 I got from Subaru, but no where near black. I noticed that, like others, the engine noise is quite quieter then before. If only that infamous chirping would stop.

Anyway, here's a pic of the odo when I hit 3000!!!

Congrats man. I'm from the Poughkeepsie area as well. Haven't seen your car driving around, but I think it's the same one in front of the Wappingers Subie earlier this summer? Well anyways, hopefully see you around, I don't go to meets that much anymore, but as fall comes, I'm going to be out more. I daily a white G35 coupe and recently, been using my green Supra as my daily on nice days.

Good luck on the car, happy modding!

Jeremy

Thanks! The one that was out front of Mid-Hudson was actually an Automatic. It was there maybe a week or so after I got mine. My car was barely on their lot for a day before I took it home, since I ordered it in February.

I go to the local meet Wednesdays every now and then, but I might try the Bear Mountain next week. There's such a turn out for that I'm shocked. So many cars from every year and make.

I'll be heading to a meet this Saturday (for this forum) and the bigger one next Saturday in Middletown. About 1,000 people signed up on FB for that one!

I've seen a few G35s around with the license plates off-set to the side in white. Or it could be a G37. Not to familiar with them. I usually see a black Supra around but I did see a darker color one (not black) on 9 a few weeks ago. I gave him a thumbsup but he wasn't looking at the time.

Ah yes, the weekly Wed meets hosted by buddy Justin with the TT Mazda6 right? I'm gonna try to start making that meet soon. Just been busy with life in general. LOL. The black Supra with the unpainted front bumper is an NA... You should try running him! haha

NY being one of the most expensive states to insure is not true. Actually, it's around the national average (one of the reasons being that the state mandates every car registered to have insurance, which is not true of every state).
See: http://www.insure.com/car-insurance/...nce-rates.html
Cali's worse.

But yeah I'm 25 and I'm paying 1200 every six at Allstate... the coverage is good though, and your rates wont increase as much as Geico/Progressive if something happens.

Hmm, shouldn't it be less for you if you're 25? Or is that 26? Mine is just over $1100 and I could make it less if I had time to do a defensive driving course.

I know that Justin with the Alpine White STI usually runs the events. At least in terms of where and when. There's a fb page that he updates every week with new meets. It's usually on 9 at BJs, Home Depot in Fishkill, or at OCC in Middletown area.

Haha, really? I know there's someone in Pleasant Valley who used to own a black Supra along with 99/00 Civic Si, but I haven't seen them there in a while.

well, maybe my situation is different, I never had to pay for my insurance before the BRZ, so who knows what it could have been before...

I DO have stuff on my record, but that was from 6 years ago. Dunno if it affects my rate or what.

Also, insurance can vary by location, even down to the county you live in. It's a stupid system, nearly as stupid as the credit system. I'll never understand why it costs less to insure a Corvette than a tC. (well I kinda do, but still think its dumb).
