Odd, there should be a noticeable difference. Having said this, highveld altitude will probably make the gains less, but the engine protection will still take place.
Chuck in 10-15L E95 and then top up with pump fuel (generally whats for sale in SA), and in around 10km or so once its gone through the fuel lines it should start feeling far more alive. That should give you around E10 so 98RON.

Only pain in the ass is that 10-15L of E95 isn't a small, convenient bottle like OB.

Like Steve said, 0.7 is IAM reset for stock tune - it will then have to knock back down to 0.2-0.3 again.

It will probably just run a little lean or rich, depending on the octane base, that's all - no harm generally.

The only rumor I have heard is that we will have ethanol added to our pump fuel one of these days. Now if they are adding it to 93 to make 95 octane fuel or adding it to 95 to make 98...I don't know, but we can only hope for the latter!

It would be great creating 98RON pump maps!

Update: Great results for a the Phoenix Performance tuned NA BRZ/GT86 at FR&R - JHB

As far as we know, the dyno graph below is the highest figures the FR&R dyno in JHB has seen for a NA BRZ/GT86 (we welcome competition and correction on this statement) BRZ/GT86 tune in the country, going up against custom remote tunes from reputable tuning houses in the USA.
We have discovered two new developments for further gains to all our tunes, and will start development of Revision 3 versions soon.

...and once again, please be aware that ALL existing clients will receive ALL updates to maps free of charge as they become available.

Below is the graph of the dyno run the client went and did at a dyno evening - he purchased a 95RON Phoenix Performance tune, KAMAK Dynamic UEL headers + overpipe, BRZ exhaust and K&N drop in filter.

Graph in WHP at highveld altitude.

We are in the process doing more development on 95 PUMP fuel maps and applying V3 changes to them such as seen in the graph above, stay tuned for more pump map results and then higher octane ones in the next few weeks.

Well done!!! This proves that E50 really does work.

Just a question - what makes this "official"? That's a very bold claim.

PS: Durban saw 134wkw (184 hp), so you cant claim "strongest in the country".
Maybe strongest in highveld by 4 hp

Yep, I think Vic made 3kw less on that very same dyno...stock.

The gains are looking very good compared to last time but I do have a problem with ridiculous claims such as "official" and what not.

Folks I fear an "official" pissing contest on the same dyno, same day is necessary. It will put to rest this constant mudslinging.

But now my inner smartass has to take over - the described "safe-tune" doesn't quite tie up with the definition of the name Phoenix:

phoe·nix
ˈfēniks/
noun
noun: phoenix; plural noun: phoenixes
(i (in classical mythology) a unique bird that lived for five or six centuries in the Arabian desert, after this time burning itself on a funeral pyre and rising from the ashes wwith renewed youth to live through another cycle.

No personal intent - just my distorted outlook on words.

Since I don't have access to any expensive lawyers and bearing in mind Marco's (who is a wonderful person and the best tuner in SA officially) post in another thread about legal action etc. let me give you guys some advise [sic]

How on earth can you question the OFFICIAL FACT that Phoenix has the most powerful NA 86 is SA if not the world. They are full of integrity and would never claim such a thing unless they had had it independently verified and had compared it on the same day and the same Dyno as their competitors like RGM,RMS, ASE etc. Their integrity would not allow such a thing to happen because to claim an official record without it actually being official would put a lot of mud on their faces and these guys are smarter than that!

Also, stop asking them to bring their cars to dyno days for comparisons! They already have the official record and so have nothing to prove! All that would happen is they would blow everyone out the water, prove their claims and then you would be left with egg on your faces! Good on you Phoenix for not falling for their agent tendencies, they can't make you verify your claims independently, well done!

On a similar note I find it inspiring how Marco has stuck to his guns on this issue and rather than proving his claims in silly little "scientific conditions" to shut up his detractors, he uses the full might of the law to beat them into submission. Not only a fantastic tuner, but a proud South African who believes in the integrity of our justice system! Kudos to you Sir!

So in closing, why go to a company like RGM who runs their cars weekly on track and in real world driving conditions and are willing to put their cars to the test. Why bring up some little girl named Ken Block or something tuned by delicious (sounds like a meal not a tune)? Marco has already told you that his tune is best!!! You are all fools and when your day in court comes, I my friends will be in the galleries cheering for your demise!

Phoenix Rocks!

(All Statements in the above post are purely my own and may have been written when I was not fully conscious of their ramifications. They are therefore frivolous and are not in any way legally binding.
Ie please don't sue me for posting on an Internet forum!!!)

Hey Alan,

We agree with you 100% with regards to claiming official highest figures, and have edited our claim accordingly.

Apologies for the upset/confusion.

We appreciate your constructive criticism.

There are posts of other international tuners claiming "highest figures..." etc, but we will avoid falling into the same trap and will make sure that any claims we make are more precise.

Thank you again.

Kind Regards,
Damien
