If he's married to +48, could he not get camber plates to add it without rubbing?

Half the time I dont know what the hell you guys are talking about.

Springs ARE coilovers.
Coilovers ARE springs.

When people talk about "getting coilovers".
The car HAS coilovers stock.

Talk about a confusing discussion.

To me it sounds like: ""I want to upgrade my springs with some springs, but I dont know if I should get springs or springs......" WTF??

Ok, let's define "coilover" as an integrated spring/strut combo such as a KW v3, and "spring" as a product that does not have an integrated strut from the factory, such as RCE Yellows. That's why I try to specify spring/strut combo (RCE Tarmac & Bilstein B8) vs. coilover (RCE Tarmac II).

So while coilovers do have springs as a part of them, springs do not necessarily have struts as a part of them.

That makes more sense.
That is why "spring/strut combos" can accommodate a bigger tire than the stock "spring/strut combo" because they engineer it from the beginning with a smaller diameter (and more expensive) spring.

You're not helping.

So to you, what is the generic term for a product such as a KW v3 or RCE Tarmac II? And then the same question for RCE Yellows combined with Bilstein struts?

He could, but that's another ~$500. Plus, camber added at the knuckle is slightly better for geometry than camber added at the upper mount.

No I was agreeing with you.
Now I understand how the terminology works.

If you are buying "springs" and using the stock strut, you have fewer choices than if you buy a complete package (combo) because the end result can be more room for an over sized or inset tire.

That's how I mean it. Springs can be used with the OEM strut. You can replace the strut as well, but they're purchased as separate items from the springs. Coilovers are integrated units right out of the box.

This is my DD and I want to start autoX possibly or getting some track time.

"Nice" coilovers with 40 click 1-way adjustment have been designed by the marketing department.

If you want to just do springs first, take a look at these. This link (http://www.fastwrx.com/collections/w...ducts/rota-rkr) is for the wheels that Dan (owner of Mach V) currently has on his BRZ. This will give you a reference to what size the wheels are and what size tires he is running on the Mach V springs. Here are some close up pictures.

Wheel opening spacing is even front and rear and I think this set up really looks nice.

RKRs look too much like 1980's Japan for me.
