What kind of times at Roebling? I was just there this weekend for the first time and liked the track a lot.

I'm built for STX so probably not optimized points-wise for Time attack, but still fun to ponder.

Track records fall around the 1.20 range. Depending on your tires that could vary from 1:22 all the way to 1:27 on completely stock setup.

Ok not bad. I was running high 1:23s my first time there on Dunlop Z2s. I need to dive into 1 more aggressively, take 4 tighter, and no idea what the fast line is on 5-6.

Awesome. That's hella quick for a first timer on street tires. I haven't broken a 1:25 yet, and I've been there 3 times. Although, I've only run stock tires there. Got a puncture on my hoosiers on the first lap, so switched back to stock tires. Looking forward to seeing you at some of our events then.

Good idea on the thread. I'm always interested in gathering more feedback.
That is great news. I have always loved Roebling, and this is the first year I didn't make it to the one event a year. Are they all Southeast dates?

I watched your video on Facebook. You can definitely pick up some time. Have you watched any of the SpecE30 videos from Roebling? The fast guys are flat out through turn 3 and are flat out all the way from the carousel to turn 1. Turns 5 - 6 definitely give you options and will vary depending on how comfortable you are with trail braking. The SpecE30 track record is only a 1:23.960. Check out professional Mike Skeen:

Yep, all SE dates. January not confirmed yet, but Apr 11-12, and Sep 26-27. Not for public release yet though(as I share it on a public forum), so don't quote me. lol!

I hadn't watched any of the Spec e30 videos before, I'll be doing that when I get home tonight! Unfortunately my GoPro died after first session Sunday morning which is the one I got on video (probably got a 1:25 in there), but I picked up some time by session 3. I was diving into 1 a bit more and trail braking to rotate into 2, and I was almost flat out on 3. Ass end was coming out flat out, so I had to back off to maybe 70% throttle (street tire problems, or not enough balls). I was told that I should probably start on the outside of 4 and end up on the inside, and start on the outside of 5 to correctly hit the apex on 6. I was able to feel the edge of grip on 7, so I'm pretty sure I didn't leave a lot of speed there, and then 8-9 it was a very gentle lift to keep the car on the correct line. If I did that correctly I was shifting into 5th by the time I straightened the car out, and top of 5th gear right before the braking zone for 1. I plan to go again, perhaps with some fresh RS3s and hopefully get into the 1:22s.

Damion gave him a run for his money there though! That was a good one.

hell yea. find me on facebook and hit me up next time you head that way. Or I'll keep you in the loop next time we have an event.
Every now and then, I have some random discount codes to give out to Southeast events. hehe!

what do you think would be a good choice of suspension for a spec series ? sounds like the racecompengineering tarmac 2 or the KW V3 are good 'affordable solutions.

i am also looking to build a race classe down here in miami within the FARA races. so please share your thoughts

I prefer the SpecE30 method of a good shock and spring and less adjustability. Save the adjustability for the guys who have the big dollars and make a spec series about the driver not the budget.

To be really honest, I have no thoughts on the best suspension right now. Personally, I'd say everyone should just get Ohlins. They're a good balance between cost, high end strut, and limited adjustments. But the Spec E30 guys smash around on bilsteins sport struts and h&r springs just fine.

Couldn't give you an answer right now.
