I waited to dyno until after installing the header, but initially I had around 190whp and 170wtq with no tune. I have the header, 2.5" Nameless catted F/O pipe, 2.5" resonated Perrin CBE, and a TRD panel filter. The AFR goes a bit crazy with all of that on, so you will want a tune for safety and power gain.

*EDIT* That initial number is with all of the parts on the car and performing a baseline run after the calibration run.

I believe you're correct. The most shops use Dynojet because they're more consistent between eachother but read higher since they only use weight rather than resistance (via PAU).

@Trefoil- would you please upload the chart without the info box? I'd love to see the curve.

Yes but these dynos can be calibrated to read however you want.

There is no way he is making 190 whp no tune with just exhaust on a true low-reading mustang. That 190 number is more in line with a dynojet and that is even a bit high for a dynojet. This dyno looks like it reads high not low.

If that's Circuit Motorsports, they dyno'd a stockish BRZ at 174 whp and made around 191 whp with a tune.

I pulled those numbers from my photographs and memory. That may have been after the first reflash using Bob's EL tables that he's created.

This graph wasn't the final result, but close to it. The "dip" isn't noticeable at all - contrary to what many might imagine. But Circuit was able to greatly diminish not only the depth but also the width of that area. The AUCs are good.

*EDIT* Now I remember. The first thing Bob did was reflash, so in a way, that was a tune.

Different dyno, different day.

This dyno reads a stock BRZ/FRS at 160whp/138wtq. Trefoil came to us with all parts already installed. The 190whp was generated using my base tune, not the stock tune.

I later flashed a stock tune onto the car to try to get an idea of what things looked like without a tune, but the AFRs were all over the place and went dangerously lean on high load, so I abandoned the attempt. This is why it is important to get tuned as soon as possible after installing aftermarket parts, as you don't know what the affect is on how the engine is running unless you are able to data log.

What is your take on the dip?

All the dynos on the first post have a torque dip and that was with a 3" race exhaust. This header was designed for max power not removing the dip.

With respect that this is another vendor's thread, please see our tuning thread under the software tuning area for more details.
