You must be traffic police and erase our tickets.
But you will study and if you do it "right" you can be a detective.

Any first responder after 3 years of service would easily fail a psych evaluation based upon all the things they have experienced during the course of service. I know there is bad cops out there just like any other profession but police and first responders are held to higher standard. Try putting yourself in their shoes, walking up to a car for a simple traffic stop could turn into a crazed killer firing on you as soon as you walk up to the car. You never know what you are walking into.

Just do your homework, take ride-alongs, get a feel for the departments which you're interested in. That'll help you out a lot.
This is good advice, around where I live in Texas, it greatly depends on what department, you are applying for. There are a lot of small town departments in my area that do not require any physical test, but will highly recommend for the academy. Same thing also goes for the lie detector test. I loved going through the academy although it was one the most challenging things I have ever accomplished, it was a blast. Just be prepared for a lot of book work. And heads up as I a Sheriff deputy, some counties may require you to work in a jail first and from my experience, even if you want to be in law enforcement, being in a jail may be a challenge on its own.

The academy I went to, there were 26 of us and they split us up into three separate squads with select leaders and we had to work out and run with our squads. If one person is slower or falls behind, the instructors made the whole squad stay with that person to help "encourage" them.

I'd go down to the police station and talk to them about it. Find one of the guys not doing paperwork. All of the cops I worked with hated paperwork, and the higher your rank the more paper is on your desk too. Being there also gives you the chance to request a ride-along, if it's something you want to do, just to see how a slice of their day goes.

My cousin hated doing the paper work in the academy lol. He said it all had to be uppercase, and if they find a mistake they chewed you out or made you re write the whole thing+ a penalty.

Delicious 'murican pulled pork from whole roasted pigs

But seriously....cops are bad humans. It's the truth...PERIOD.

If they are decent and good in the beginning ..eventually, they will turn bad and evolve into evil beings. It's simple elementary psychology - once they have that power, it's human nature to turn it into bad.

Think about it.... How many times has a cop actually helped you in your life when you needed it? Me? ...ZERO times!

What about... how many times has a cop bothered you, intimidated you with their abuse of power or put you in trouble? Countless times.

F the police.
