I think I saw that one at the dealership when I was filling out the paperwork on my BRZ.

The person I'm thinking about was on the group buy list when I first did it, then followed through until it moved to Irvine.

Im not against a so called ''free market'' economic mentality but this guy is a dirt ball. I say ban him for being a sleaze. Im pretty sure that car came up for sale to the public as someone backed out at Irvine Subaru (along with a WRB). Those guys at Irvine Subaru are classy and they sold it at MSRP and now this **** is flipping it, what a deuch. I hope no one buys it.

Maybe the owner eventually realized that he was charged the markup fees once he got home.

if the owner is part of the GB, there is no mark up. the car is sold at MSRP. which in all fairness, fair to both the consumer and the dealers.

Has it been confirmed that this owner was indeed part of the GB? The seller is free to do what they want and the only one who should hurt in the end is the buyer.

Gotta make those quick bucks! Play on the hype and cash in early! This is like those d-bags in Diablo 3 charging a ton of money for level 10 yellow items. It'd only be better if they were charged for these ads, but sadly, they are not.

The guy on the SF Bay area is at least being honest and saying he's marking up the price by 3k. The out the door price + his markup makes sense. 35k sounds like it's the right total.

There's also this one:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/ctd/3039894316.html

But that's a dealer. Not sure if the car is still up for grabs or not, if I didn't have a car already lined up I'd be on that like whoa.

Then this one:
http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/ctd/3034783981.html

WHATS UP MARKUP!

I'm more curious to know... how the hell anyone will have 35k cash upfront with these guys (unless you're one of the rich chinese guys up there who'll most likely buy a GTR, lambo, ferrari or R8).

And... I'm also curious what they'll do if the owners financed the car and sold it. Does the loan go to the other person?

I'm pretty sure it was a rich guy that bought two, cash, and trying to sell the other for profit. Probably got rich from constantly flipping limited hyped up stuff.

If someone else buys the car from them, they are still obligated to pay off the money they owe on the car. This would just net them a quick profit and get their loan paid off. What they don't understand is that the taxes they'll be paying will negate much of that "quick profit" they are taking on the flipping of the car.

In the end they are still obligated to pay off the loan since it's in their name, unless they sign a contract stating that the loan is then turned over to the new owner, working with the bank to transfer the responsible party. Which is a hassle since they might not meat the same credit check, etc.

Nah, people out here just have WAY too much money from being stock market riders. Many buy up shares and sell to make quick tidy profits. A LOT of people out here made some serious cash on Apple recently. The stock went from 300ish to 600ish in 6 months. If you had 200 shares you've got the 60k to buy 2 cars. I still have some Apple shares that I got for 40 bucks. I'm sitting on them until I have an "oh shit I need cash" moment or an "Oh shit College for my son costs way more than I planned" moment. :P
