So a stock FT is generally faster and better around a track and corners than both a stock Miata/MX5 and also a stock S2k correct?

I think stock vs stock S2k would be faster

What about just the corners in general (no straights)...I thought I read you and some others mentioned the FT is better at cornering than the s2k.

Example...a canyon or mountain pass with zero major straights...or an autox with no straights.

Only at high speed corners. When's the last time you've taken a mountain road corner at 90+ speeds?

Lol
I think that's debatable I am pretty sure the whole reason S2K is faster is because FRS/BRZ lacks some power ..about 40hp-50hp but it also costs less than an S2K, I seriously considered S2K before my purchase then I said to myself "instead of getting a used S2k I can spend $3-4k on a Rotrex type SC kit and have a $30k that weighs less than S2k and with 320-330 crank hp"..of course S2K has 240hp NA power and if you get a Kraftwerks kit it makes about 380-400 whp

Now thats just manipulating and twisting a question to be a ****.

Age gap on s2k and frz isn't so big that theres been massive leaps in technology like a 30 year old italian exotic.

And both are nothing more than japanese cars, no marquee name plates to jack up the price. Just bang for the buck.

My point was, stock for stock, the s2k should be better, and it is. Using the frs for comparison since its performance per $ being compared the s2k has nearly a 10k premium, and it justifies that gap.

Would anyone here argue that out of the box the s2k didn't come with more power, better balance, better suspension, more reliability and better tires?

It was able to be built to a higher level because the higher price allowed for less corners to be cut (and lol boxer). Start throwing in mods and the price comparison becomes irrelevant, but stock for stock the s2k was a better, albeit nearly 50% more expensive car.

Its definitely fair to compare the two with in context, just how our cars are compared to many things that double and sometimes triple the cost of our car. I think the point everyone is arguing is the s2k is simply a better platform(double wishbone suspension front and back,50/50 weight dist, 40more hp, and forged internals but all this with inflation taken into effect makes it like a 43k car in todays dollar) but it came with higher price point. The thing people are missing is how much we get for a meagre 25k and thats the best part of our car.
