Are they stored as .bin files?

Yes.

That doesn't mean that they are OFT or otherwise compatible. They can only be opened with ECUtek.

Worth a try. If it works like any other image file, OFT won't have to open it to flash it.

so that would mean person A buys a tune from a vendor licensed to his dongle so he can flash it as long as he has an ecutek license in his ecu

He could then flash the same tune to his mates car if his mate person B if they had another ecutek license, surely not ?? they check vins or some other method ?

or tune is locked to dongle
dongle locked to license in ecu

somehow they stop people sharing tunes else they be posted up here for sharing :-)

Nope, file is locked to dongle. That's it.

The reason no-one shares is:
A) You'd need to send your dongle to someone with the flashing kit
B) They'd still have to pay for an ECU license
C) If you've gone to that expense, why get a 2nd hand tune?

If I sold on all my mods to one person, I'd pass on the dongle and my tune no issue.

Good to know that can be done
So if two guys had NA car A01G rom they could share tune but only flash with same dongle, vendors must have higher level ? so they can flash over other dongle locked tunes or can anyonbe do that with their dongle ? dont they limit number of cars you can flash with a normal dongle, heard guys have to buy vendor licience of something

I could flash non-coded files or anything coded to my dongle to any car with an ECUtek license. ECUtek state a fair usage policy, if you start to tune cars then pay up to be a tuner. You get better map & software access if you do that too. The ECU doesn't care who is connected, it just needs ProECU to communicate.

Kay boys, do your best.
This is a run up in 2nd with the corrections to timing we were talking about.
What can I do to make it better? (FYI: I slightly botched the run by not being WOT in the beginning. It's the obviously not WOT part)

Here's virtual dyno with accurate temps and pressure at altitude ~1200ft, with 2nd gear ratio.

Your IAM is 0.93 not too bad

Ok you have FLKC knock of almost -2.9 degrees between 2500 and 5000.

knock less than -1 is not a big problem especially if its not dropping IAM

The afr looks ok also log LTFT

leave out road speed and KC learned

after you re log with engine load, note the rpm/load where your getting the big knock correction ie over -1 and then pull about half the value from BASE TIMING B table at the rpm load points.

see the knock correction links below

unfortunately you did not log Engine Load as you need that as you need to know the rpm/loads to pull timing from.

Thanks steve. I'll adjust parameters accordingly and try to do another pull tomorrow. Appreciate the feedback. Do you also have a torque dip at around 6k?
Also, when you say FLKC OVER -1, do you mean a value closer to 0, or a value closer to -2?

Sorry if I missed it somewhere...but, does OFT "smooth out" the rev-limiter by chance? For example, if I am in 2nd gear and hit the rev-limiter, will it "bounce" off the limiter by cutting fuel/spark (or whatever it does to cause the bouncing off the limiter)? Or, will it cruise along smoothly at the limiter with no bouncing?

Thanks!

Having just looked at the timing table last night, I can without a doubt tell you that there is nothing smooth about the rev-limiting timing values.
They pull all timing instantly. I think your goal would be to figure out a way to max the rpm just below the limit.
