Y would it not be allowed? It follows all of the FIA/Nasa certifications. A lot of people have them.

She is officially tucked away for the winter at my shop.

I have already removed the pads and rotors and am selling whats left of them to a good friend that wants to try out my 2016 setup. I am going with DBA slotted T2 rotors and Hawk DTC-60s for 2017. With this setup I don't feel like I will have any braking issues.

I installed a Craven speed flex pod gauge mount to hold a Defi oil pressure gauge. It is a pretty high quality part and was super easy to install. I highly recommend it. It also blocks the useless analog speedometer and tpms light. Also pictured is a sneak peek at my "mock up" radio switch panel.

I bought a Killer B Motorsport M18x1.5 to 1/8PT Adapter from rally sport direct to fit the oil pressure gauge sender properly. Works perfect.

Removed the carpet in the never ending quest to be lightweight. Fixed back seats coming soon.

Planted seat mounts are here. These things are pretty beefy. I will be ordering seats on black Friday. I am going with the ORECA Start FG Edition Racing Seat from Winding Road. They are FIA approved, HANS compatible and seem to be a great deal.

DBA T2 rotors are here! One day I may be bawler enough for a AP Racing Sprint kit with 2 piece rotors. But that day is not today.

My new Oreca Start FG Edition fixed back seat arrived today. I am 5'9", 140lbs with a 30" waist and it fits perfect. I picked it up from windingroad.com. Its a less expensive option for a seat but the fit and finish is pretty nice. Removable bottom cushions, Hans comparable, FIA approved all for $540 shipped. Ill update when the mounts come in on Wednesday.

The seat is mocked up. I played around with the adjustments for a half hour before finding the perfect seating position. I still need to get some permanent hardware for the bottom seat mount but other wise it is mounted.

New switch panel is complete.

The one labeled "cockpit lights" is for some led strips I replaced the dome light with. (The cage was too close to the roof so I had to remove the headliner. Which includes the dome light.)

The one labeled "power" is going to be for my lap timer. Which will mount to the right of the switches.

The one after that was an impulse buy however very useful. Its two USB ports with a voltmeter in the center. When I am at the track the search to power/charge devices gets difficult. This should help.

I also added a fuse sub-panel for easy install. You can barely see it mounted in the glove box. So far it only feeds power to the switch panel and the oil pressure gauge.

Haven't checked out this thread for over a year. I like how far your build as come. Dare I say, your build has re-rejuvenated interest into my 86.

Say, what's your opinion on short shifters?

Thanks! There aren't very many people that drive the twins where I live so I am often trying to make a good case for them. They are truly amazing cars.

I have avoided short shifters in this car bc I have had them in others and never cared for them. There has always been a better place to spend my money. However, this one just came out and I want it pretty bad. I will probably end up buying this at the end of the season this year.

LOL DUDE! That's the exact same short shifter I want too! I currently have the Kart Boy SS in my 86 and to say the least, it's a great jump from stock but it rattles like crazy above 4k rpm. Definitely update us when you're going to bite the bullet and buy one of those suckers. There isn't enough third party reviews on the shifter yet, so I'm still hesitant on buying one.
