On my 05 Legacy GT, I had a bunch of oil analysis done at one point in time. Viscosity of the oil should be within 9.1-11.3 at 3900 miles. At a 3250 mile oil change mine was down to 9.12. A 3340 oil change it was down to 8.55. At 3475, it was down to 8.11. This was with Castrol Edge. Blackstone figured that the oil would probably might make it to 5000 miles if I really need to stretch it out. But they indicated the wear numbers on a 3300 miles interval was really good so don't change the interval. The LGT is now at 243K miles and still running. That's 70+ oil changes, 315+ quarts of oil.
