Hi all- drove 5 hours to get my MT Ultramarine FR-S, every minute was worth it! It is MY car, not my husband's, though I might let him drive it once in a while....
I was driving a 93 MR2 before, and I still have my first car, a 73 AMC Hornet (if you know what that is, you may laugh at me now. If you had to google it, you can laugh anyway.) I love cars in general, and driving the FR-S is fun. I don't post much, but figured I should do the intro thing. Happy Driving! |

Let's follow tradition then:
Hi fom Namibia. I have been lurking here for what seems like forever (basically since the FT86 concept was first shown), and, like a complete noob I only recently discovered that I CAN in fact register here, once I took [boring technical garbage]... Around here, the GT86/FR-S Is available as the Toyota 86 standard (16" wheels, fabric interior, full size spare) and the high spec (17" wheels - like the normal GT86, leather interior, keyless ignition, headlight washers, frameless mirror, HID lights, full-size spare) The BRZ is ONLY available in full trim (satnav, leather, spoiler, etc), and costs about 100K Namibian dollars (1:1 with the ZA Rand, about 9:1 with the USD) more than the basic 86. I wanted an 86 since I saw the concept, and when it launched I had a test run in one and loved it. Even the missus agreed that it's great looking. We agreed that We'd stick with our current car and then buy an 86 as a second car. And so it happened that in December 2012, I called up various Toyota dealerships (the BRZ was scheduled here for Feb 2013) to ask about availability. All sold out (mostly back to South Africa, apparently), and the waiting lists are "3-6 months". So I probed a bit further and had one dealership tell me that they could get me a silver one. I wanted it in white, and decided to wait. So I ordered a basic spec, pearl white 86 in December and have been waiting for a manufacturing date since then. Fun and games. |

I went to the dealership to just see if this is truly a hardtop Miata. It is, so I bought a red one. I have been driving Mazdas since 1985. This car drives like a cross between a miata and a NSX. I traded an 03 Boxster in on it. Once broken in, I plan on tracking it at Sebring.

Long time lurker first time poster
Hey guys just got my Asphalt FRS and I can't be any happier. This car is absolutely perfect. It rained as soon as I got it so I will take it as a sign that the world is shedding tears of joy for my momentous occasion. First thing I did was I took it to a empty parking lot with nothing to hit in sight and slung it around gingerly a couple of times and it was magnificent

Hey guys, picked up my new FRS about a month ago. It's my 2nd car, but my first MT car. It was a little hard at first, but finally got the hang of it
Hope to make new friends on here.
