The gaskets still aren't being sealed to the housings. Given the design and how water runs down them, the crappy equivalent of a strip of scotch tape isn't going to prevent condensation forever. I'm still finding that using the better gasket foam and sealing it all the way around with weatherstripping adhesive gives the best results. Some of the aftermarket taillight companies are at least providing the better foam now. Sealing it to the housings is on the owner/installer to do.

Don't use alcohol to remove water from inside the taillights. Saw some water in the tail lights, thought it would be easy to use some alcohol to dry out the water then allow the alcohol to weather off, to speed it up I used a hair dryer. Big, Big, Big mistake! The alcohol etched/stained the lens from the inside. Looks really bad, didn't want to go though the trouble of cutting the lens off to try to buff the stain off. I'm going to need to get some new tail lights. Until then I tinted the lens from the outside, can still see the stain when the brake lights illuminate. Yeech! Oh well lesson learned.

Suddenly got water in my right taillight assembly today, got mine in November. Time to finally make appointment! They can take care of window auto switch too. Crickets, maybe.
As for getting on service technicians cases? I don't, we have a single car that we have 24/7 and read all about on our free time. They have at least a dozen different models to work on. Helps that I'm a technician on registers and I know I have to look stuff up all the time.

I've had this problem for a while but have been hesitant to take it in to the dealer. I redded my taillights out with paint but turned them back to clear after a while. Somewhere in between, the driver side taillight cracked a little bit.
Nothing major, if you run your finger over it, it feels smooth as if nothing happened. The passenger side is fine but still has condensation.
I'm just afraid that they'll see some of the paint that I couldn't get off and that the zip-tie clips are missing because I took them out to mess with them and decided not to give me new ones. Help?

Going to take the car to the dealer to get mine replaced. Anyone elses dealer request an overnight stay of the car to diagnose and confirm problem? Seems a bit excessive...

They said something about picking me up and dropping me off at my work or something along those lines. I'll probably just turn that down and get a corworker to carpool with.

My dealership has no appointments on the weekends for the rest of the year open... I asked if I could drop it off on weeknight and get a rental and they declined and said they can't drop me off at work either if I bring it in the morning because my job is too far.

That's when I decided to just drain them and drill vent holes. No problems now.

My plan is to get it fixed at least once now that the issues is well known and jump through the hoops to get it documented. If it happens again, I plan to do the repair myself with a new gasket.

Got back from dealer, 1 month back order on gaskets is what they claimed. So I'll be waiting a bit to get mine replaced.
