Installed my new GTR wing today. Still have a lot of fine tuning to do, more angle for more down force, and re-paint. Also I'm going to have to add the center support and it's a bit flexible with out it. All in all I really like it.

I got my new AP Sprint big brake kit today, but won't install it until my current pads are wore out.

Just got my car back from the paint shop. I added a wing off a Nissan GTR, that we modified to work better. I basically fit the car but we made spacers to fill the gap between the wing and trunk lid. And made spacers with 1 inch of angle added to change the angle of attack of the wing to actually give me some sown force. And we made a new center support and wired in the brake light.
So all this got painted plus the new side skirts.

Looks beautiful except for that column...no way to do a reinforcing piece along the underside of the wing for stability instead?

I agree. There actually is a center support for the stock GTR wing but we had to make a longer one. The wing is just to flimsy with out it. I'm going to try to make something more streamed lined latter on.

I'm no engineer or anything, far from it, but what about a metal beam attached to the underside to reinforce the rigidity? Something not too noticeable.

I put my new AP Sprint brake kit on today. Tomorrow I'll finish bleeding the brakes then off to West End Alignment for corner weighting and alignment.

I took the stock center support and filled it with 2-part epoxy. Let it fully cure, then cut the bitch in half. I then placed both halve in a workbench vice with a 1" gap between them. Spent almost half an hour making sure the 2 haves were alighned. Then I wrapped the bottom of the gap with masking tap bridging the gap. I slowly added some epoxy on the top of the tape just enough to hold the part in place without the vice. Let cure, then take out of the vice. Wrap the entire gap with masking tap other then a tiny opening. I then filled the hole with 2-part urethane abs. Let Cure. Remove the tape and I had a crude looking extended center support. Next came all the filling/sanding to make it look oem.

After it is shaped you need to drill a hole from the top though the center so you can run the wire for the LED lights. I also drilled a small hole in the decklid to run the wiring though. Since I used the factory center support it used the 2-screw mount TO the spoiler. On the bottom I used 2-sided body moulding tape and a dab of silicone around the wire hole (to keep water out if it gets past the tape.)

Goodluck. ~

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try.

How would you compare the Maxxis RC-1s to the Hoosiers and other tires you have tried with the FRS?

The maxis are not as sticky as the Hoosiers, but talk to you where the hoosiers don't. This can be another tool in learning. I really liked the Nitto NT01s but they were with a different suspension set up so I can't give a fair comparison.
