Coolant disappearing after track day?

So I've had my coolant disappearing after track days (I was getting really freaked out) and thanks to @ReHabJeff I think I figured it out. Basically, if you are lazy (like me) and don't always pop your hood after a session, you pretty much just steam it out of the overflow reservoir (it is VERY hot in the engine bay when you come off track and just park). If you are having issues with vanishing coolant, try always opening the hood after a session, it seems to have worked for me!

It sounds like these things get really hot when you track them. Is there any upgraded radiator/oil cooler? The perrin one looks nice but a bit $$$$. I'm lucky that the nearest tracks to me are a good 3 hours or so away.

The coolant reservoir has a little hole in the top front-facing side. It's almost under the bumper so it's hard to see. Been noticing mine low as well. Trying to track down some Toyota/Subaru Super Blue coolant on the cheap. Best I've found so far is about $22.

If doesn't get below freezing where you live, just top it off with distilled water. Plain water cools better than antifreeze mix, and there will still be more than enough antifreeze in the system to keep from freezing in the cold months. Looking at your avatar...probably won't fly for you.

Another trick I use is to turn my a/c on full blast after running, this turns on the radiator fans to blow air right at the block and suck air through the radiator.

I've been told about that same trick, but in the context of pushing air over the brakes (not sure if that applies to us though).
