I would imagine they'll reskin the roof, might as well get a carbon fiber replacement. :P

Curious to know how much money insurance would pay out and if it would be close to being totaled.

I feel your pain, I had mine 10 days and I just got mine back from the body shop after 16 days of work and $7400 in hail damage. Mine looked about as bad as yours. They just replaced all the panels, hood, trunk and wing.

What part of the state are you in? This is my one fear living in Colorado.

I'm in the south Denver Metro area and we didn't get much at all yesterday, just one quick wave of dark black clouds with wind and rain then it was gone in less than 10 minutes.

Sorry for the damage my friend. My 10 series was hail damaged last year. Perfectly fixed now. - And moved into an apartment with an underground garage. Best decision for the car.

I've compared the monogram with the 10-Series and it a little but more but you get a lot more. I've had mine for a month and its sweet! Sorry about losing her like that, its so sad to know its all surface damage but completely ruined.

I vote all carbon fiber panels, hood, trunk and roof or wide-body with carbon fiber hood, roof and trunk.

The insurance will be evaluating the damages Saturday.

Fort Collins. The hail started about 10:45pm and the third wave stopped about 11:10pm. The hail stones ranged from barely frozen to pea sized to marble to quarter, and a few that were the size of dollar coins. It seemed like our apartment was the center of the storm. We could hear the hail hitting the windows on all three sides of our building. The big hail made shadows as it skipped across the front lawn.

Having owned a 2007 WRX for 4 years and having to take out hail a damage claim every year I owned it, I knew what I was getting into with the twins being built in the same factory. The WRX's hood was replaced in two of the four claims because it was too damaged to paintless dent repair. The 4th time I just took the payout, payed the car off and moved on. All those storms happened in Laramie, Wyoming between May 2007 and May 2011.

Based on what I can see the hood, trunk and right front fender are too dented to be repaired. The peak on the fender has what looks to be 3 or 4 strikes in the same spot and the paint on the hood is cracked in 3 or more places. Both tail lights and the front windshield will have to be repaired. I'm not sure I want the roof re-skinned, and the body above the doors, how does that even get fixed if it can't be PDR'd?

Carbon hood and trunk have crossed my mind, but I can't do that for 4 more months. They would bump me out of the prepared class in SCCA RallyCross, where I'm trying to win not only a National Championship, but also a Triple Cross award (championships at the local, regional and national levels in the same class in the same year) this year.

I don't understand why people wouldn't repair it or say depends on the estimate. It's only cosmetic damage. I would have them replace everything that was damaged. I have 0 deductible and the insurance agent specially sold mention hail. It hails a lot here in Dallas. So if my car is hailed on. I can get everything replace and it cost me nothing. I don't see why not.

I agree. This isn't one of those "it'll never drive the same" accidents. It's a bunch of frozen water put dents in it. Nothing underneath will have been harmed. It's all "skin" deep. The performance of it will be exactly as it was once they put new panels on it. Won't even need new liners or anything for the fenders. The only pain in the butt is the rear quarter panels if they have bad hail damage. Those they'd have to cut and weld new ones on, then sand the welds and redo. Or go the bondo/body filler route and sand down to metal, smooth it all out, primer and paint.

It really depends on how attached you are to this car.

I also have a 10 series...but if this happened to my car...and the insurance payout is enough for a monogram...I would do that instead.

However if the insurance payout isnt enough...I would like to repair it.

For me...I would have to get into another FRS with the equal trim level (Monogram/BRZ Limited)

I'm not sure WHAT I'd do. It's all cosmetic, so if insurance will fix it, go for it. But if the payout is decent you can go Monogram...
Beast?! Is that you?
