^^^ This must be why the seat belt is freaking choking me everytime I brake hard before a turn. I was wondering why sometimes the seatbelt felt like it was tightening on its own. What I feel like I need is a modification of the seat belt guide where it can hold the belt in a loose position to overcome the pretensioner so the car doesn't choke me whenever I drive spirited...

Another option is to install a harness with straps going over each shoulder. Though this option has it's own safety concerns (harness bar, rollbar, helmet etc) I'd say running a 4-point harness on the open road is still better than modifying your factory 3-point belt to not function properly. Food for thought.

If by functioning properly, you mean to suffocate its driver when he drives spirited. Right now, it's so bad, I put the shoulder strap under my arm so it doesn't tightened on my chest.

I've come up with a way to deal with the pretensioner by using a custom seat belt guide. I'll make a post about it after making it work.

I'm 5'2 and it feels like someone is holding a blade to my neck. But seriously, it cuts into me pretty good. I should buy those TRD neck pads or find an ebay special.

In fact I asked Mr.Tada about the absence of recliner angle memory on seats so it needs not reset each time it is folded for rear seat access,
and he clearly explained that that is also another 5kg on each side of the car, and with the goal of getting it as close to weight targets, it was left out.
Personally I could have lived with the 5kg, but I can also understand that each one of 30-40 requests like this can easily add 100kg to the car...so I respect his decisions.
Absolutely fascinating testament to the level of design and engineering detail that went into this car. Of course I don't have mine yet and may become thoroughly PO'd, but from other post it's looking like I'll fit into the acceptable category.

Not only height, but seat position as well (decline and fore-aft position).

I agree. I was worried enough about this that one of the things I asked my wife to check was the seat belt positioning. She's 5'1". The only way we got it to strangle her was by moving the seat all the way back. "But why would anyone do that?" At 61", she's got plenty of space without moving the seat back. Gobs of it. She was confused by why anyone would sit all the way back there and thought I was being ridiculous.

YMMV, obviously.
