There are pretty much no downsides to a nice set of lightweight racing wheels in a reasonable size and offset.

Affordable, durable, light. Pick two, and be ready to be disappointed on one of those two.

One thing I should warn everyone on is that the sprung to unsprung ratios do not translate between different cars. Two cars can have the exact same ratios, and even with perfect damping can have vastly different behaviors when it comes to bumps in the road. Suspension design, weight placement, even drive configuration can all play very important parts in how the car behaves.

If you want to get really in-depth about how a vehicle behaves I suggest brushing up on your math and then reading [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Race-Car-Vehicle-Dynamics-R146/dp/1560915269"]Race Car Vehicle Dynamics by Miliken and Miliken[/ame].

Now how many of you have used these???

These are off one of my motorcycles. Dropped 46lbs of unsprung weight. I'm a road racer, But I went to the drags once, No one could catch me in the 1st 60 ft.

On the track I had to change all my lines.

One other thing people get stuck on is light wheels, But then put cheap heavy tires on them.

on my ducati i have light weight race wheels(all ducatis come with them) but not the best
..
now they get lighter yes, but the lighter you go the easier they are to get damaged.. and on public streets you will watch you wallet shrink after nailing through..

pot holes !!

so durable as someone mentioned might be neccesary if you plan to do alot of driving on public roads

Stock Ducati wheels up to 2006-07 where boat anchors. And they still bent. One of my 900ss, went thru a few front wheels driving down the highway.

The newer wheels are much better lighter and forged on the superbikes.

Light wheels do not bend because they are lighter. They bend from use. My carbon wheels never a problem. They are 2 and 4 lbs a piece. But yet the heavy Ducati 900ss wheels bend just looking at them almost. Magnesium wheels are what I am scared of. Over the 18 years I worked in racing. Magnesium wheels are the ones that failed the most. They crack from the stresses, air destroys them over time. They bend really easy.

Never catch me on magnesium wheels car or bike

Is there a tire comparison website around?

I like tirerack. You can select all the tires you want to look at and compare them on one screen. They don't carry everything but they have quite a bit.

That's awesome. The reason I asked was that I'd been looking at SportClassics lately, and I thought the swingarm looked familiar. Even thought to myself "that looks like the color they used for the Paul Smart". Thanks for answering.
