I am having the same issue, I am not overweight or that tall, I have broad shoulders, I feel like it digs right into the back of my ribs.
I am very close to trading the car in and taking a loss on it.
So final fix: I went to an upholstery shop and hung around for 4 hours while they fixed my seats. It cost about $350 and both my main seat and my passenger seat are adjusted and extremely comfortable now. I didn't want to over bend anything or have it lopsided so I went with someone who could repair any damage

Just like the vids linked above:
  • They unzip and strip the cover, peel back some foam, and start bending the wire frame for the bolsters out with a couple crowbars.
  • The shoulder bolsters are important to pay attention to, the foam exposes a square end after being bent to shape that will show through the seat cover about 3/4" from the seat back up the bolster, and be uncomfortable where it hits the nerve right at your shoulder.
  • If you are broad chested like me, then the seat "cup" is a little too narrow as well, they can add 3/4" or so of foam to the base of the foam and push out the cup, effectively making the seat made for a larger person.
  • I had the seat base bolsters on the passenger side treated the same way, now my women friends with lovely hips find it comfortable.
My seat fits like a glove! Very happy with this, I highly suggest looking to an upholstery shop to fix your issue before spending a lot of money.

I went to Rich's Custom Upholstery in Seattle (yeah I live in PDX, but I wanted to take a drive... and an honest salesman is worth the trip).
