Well, that's good price. The reason I ask is that I'm insured by USAA and they break out the coverage (price) by 6 months on the statements. Sort of misleading....at least to me.

Anyway, I'm 71 years old, married, I've been with USAA for over 45 years, live in a small town, drive 10,000 miles a year, retired, full coverage, no accidents in 35 years, have multiple car and house insurance with them ...... and pay about the same as you pay ... dang, you're getting a GREAT deal .. !!

@dtrop, do you mind if I ask the name of your insurance company .. ??

I'm 23 with my points wiped out in January been driving for almost 6 years.

Thank you.

Then let me be more "constructive":

35
Single
Own a home
Multi-policy/multi-car discounts
Clean driving record since 17
100/300 liability limits
Live in the 2nd-largest metropolitan area in the country

My insurance is approx. $1600 before discounts taken, ~$1100 after.

Still not useful to OP.

Actually, it is useful. It's showing him exactly what we are all saying, that insurance varies too much to give any concrete answer. It should show him to call his insurance company for a quote and if he is unhappy with that quote, to shop around.

The only trend that can be somewhat be seen is insurance is "typically" higher in populated areas and in cities because there can be a "higher" risk of an accident.

Hey guys, thanks for all the information, I knew that it would be hard to get a concrete answer but it was helpful to see a wide range of prices. My current insurance would charge me too much, already checked, and I'm not into the whe inputting my info onto site justs to get a quote, but I really appreciate all the responses.

Hey @RitualOfTheSloth, my renewal was coming around, so I spent about 2 hours today punching in my own and my sister's info to comparison shop across the insurance companies I mentioned before.

If your time is worth $100's per hour, I can see why you wouldn't want to comparison shop. Otherwise, this is serious amounts of money you can save by shopping around. I'm willing to bet it's faster to punch in your own info, than it is to call up a company and ask them to give you a quote.

But I don't deny that if you haven't done car insurance shopping before, the choices are pretty bewildering.

Give it a shot though, the online quote systems have really good explanations for the different insurance options these days.

Bundling up had a huge impact on my premiums! If I bundle my own and my sister's car into one policy, we individually save over 400 bucks a year....crazy...

I was on a Safeco (Liberty Mutual for brokers) policy for a year but when it came to renew I found out they jacked up my rates for, as far as I could tell, no reason. So when I picked up renter's insurance from another local insurance broker when I moved into a new apartment I inquired about car insurance as well. The guy ran my info and quoted me about $400 less per year (with a Traveler's policy) for the same $200 deductible, and even included rental car coverage when my old Safeco policy didn't.

It's definitely worth it to shop around.

I'm 23, not married, with geico for 6 years. Unlimited miles with full coverage on the frs and liability on the truck(get a multi car discount) and pay 879. Can't wait for next year to get my "lower" rate due to age. And being married

With my 12 WRX and 01 2.5RS I pay $125 full coverage with all the perks. I am 29, military, relatively clean record . I pay $89 a month for my WRX so hopefully you can go off of that. It should be cheaper to insure a BRZ then a WRX but again to many factors. I know insuring a BRZ for me is cheap, I called.

I have life insurance, car insurance, renters insurance with USAA and I have over $1000 worth of discounts on my insurance. I love USAA.

I pay around $ 1400 a year for both my jeep (2011 GC) and my Frs - full coverage and high limits on most items. I'm 27 & female with a squeaky clean driving record sooo...

It helps!
