Actually, as long as they blend with the rest of the car it should come out good. I got in a front end collision and my paint actually matches better since it was all blended vs. being painted in pieces at the factory.

And blend in the sun….looks dead on until you walk to the side of the car on the seam, then it shows quite a bit.

I might be crazy, but I'm nearly positive the color has darkened since it was first painted (drying? paint smell is now gone from the garage). Not a lot, but it has.
How long ago was this? They can't buff or polish fresh paint for like 6 weeks. May not solve the issue but will change some of the look at least.

Toyota didn't fuck your car up.. That employee at that dealership did.. Second I suggest to people all the time to get gasketninja.com but everyone always tells me "as long as it's covered under warranty I'll have them fix it" this is why I don't have little small things taken care of at dealerships.. They service my car, they fix the big problems.. Little stuff I take care of myself

Why do I let them service my car?? Because as long as they are the only ones servicing it, if/when something happens, they have no choice to fix it.. No hassle, no mess.. Spending 20 years in service and working at dealerships I seen the hassle and hardships people go through to get basic warranty work when there are incomplete service records.. For me it's not worth the headache.. Luckily we know people inside the dealership here and that makes it much much better when getting serviced.. I know the tech personally and knows he goes above and beyond when it comes to our cars..

Also I've seen some of the weirdest, stupidest "accidents" working at dealerships.. Cars being back into, cars falling off 4posts, cars being lowered on to trash cans, or oil drain buckets, cars being lifted by the wrong lift points.. Weirdest shit ever can happen at dealerships that just require common sense to avoid

This has happened with my corolla and if it ever happens again , i will request the driver license number of who was driving and i will claim through my insurance company and have my choice of repairer.
If the dealer won't comply , they will be serviced by my legal team.

Totally agree. For something under 100 bucks especially (and in the case of the tail light gasket under 40). I'd much rather come outta pocket and do it myself than take the chance on someone else doing it. This isn't a 10k beater from a shady dealership on the side of the highway, most people can afford the 39 dollars or w.e. gasketninja charges.

I had the choice between white, red and black when I picked mine... I avoided red because it isn't metal and will fade away within 7 years or so.

Then between black and white I took black because I red that it's the easiest colour to match if any rework needs doing. White is known to be the hardest...

However, the white looks fabulous, you just have to be sure nothing will happen to it, I use mine daily drive, supermarket, town parking, undergrounds, work, school, friends flats and the lot, so hoping I never need any paint job seems ludicrous in my situation, so I picked black (which also looks quite nice all the same...)

Something's you should know

1) accelerated depreciation
Your car is now worth less because it needs body work. Depending on the damage (no pics yet) it can be anywhere from 5% for a bumper cover to 20% for 3 or more body panels requiring paint. If you blend the paint you will suffer the 20% hit but may not be fully reimbursed

2) blend vs not to blend. And Toyota product with paint work on more than 2 panels CANNOT be certified. This includes blending. The paint is thinker and there is always some debris in the paint.

Good luck

Unfortunately shit happens.. I'm sure they will take care of you.. Not Toyotas fault.. but stuff like this happens all the time.. It's all part of life..
I'm sure you will be good to go in no time..
My wife's honda was in for its first oil change and they hit the ramp on the edge of the lift and cut a hole in the sidewall, then someone backed up into it and scuffed the bumper! Same visit, new car. They made it right and we had no issues for the life of the car.. Hang in there.. Hard to see and deal with.. But you will be fine.

Technically according to subaru trade in policy as long as body parts are OEM (i.e. not replaced) you can still trade it in for their "guaranteed trade in value". Although I'm not sure how true that is.

I was selling a Honda Odyssey and took to a dealer to get estimate. It had a minor accident (repaint rear quarter and bumper) and the guy said he can only offer 4500 due to accident. I end up selling private party 6500.

Hey now, don't lump us all in the same boat. Sure there's a few $12/hour guys in the shop but I haven't yet met an A-Tech who doesn't have a ground-up resto. I'd say 12 out of the 15 guys in my shop could be considered "car guys". And the only people I'd lump into "dealership staff" are the recycled salesmen and the lot guys that peel plastic.

Toyota DID f up his car. The employee represents Toyota.
And no hassle if something gets messed up? Most people dont have/live near a dealership like yours(it sounds darn good-which is how they ALL should be). How many threads on here have we seen where the customer requests no car wash, but instead gets washed and comes back covered in scratches? Usually the dealer responds with *shrugged shoulders.

For me, anyway its not worth the potential headache that the dealership is gonna cause.

But thats just my opinion! Sounds like you have a reputable, quality dealership, though.
