DarrenDriven's Innovative S/C Build Topic

This will probably get rolled into my main build topic, but for now I want you NWers to follow along.

I placed my deposit for the Stage 1 Innovative S/C today... hoping to have it in my hands on Monday.

I want it. I really do.... but why are you taking this over the Vortech? From what I've seen... it seems to make more power than the Innovate.

I want a true positive displacement S/C and not a centrifugal. This is an experiment... I think I will be happy, though.

How the car feels and how the numbers show up on a piece of paper are two different things. I rode in the Vortech kit car and it wasn't any more fun or faster feeling until about 4k-4.5k RPMs. The positive displacement supercharger should give that faster feeling and fun feeling no matter what RPM you are at. Since 99% of my driving is below 3k RPM, I'm going with Innovate's supercharger. I'm glad Darren is my beta tester though.

Nice! Congrats man, the low end grunt on the screws is going to be a blast. It'll be a great kit for autox

What's better. Turbo or sc for our cars??? I want something that launches the car on low rpms.... I feel like it already pulls around 5k rpms

That question right there is the most hotly debated question on the forums and is almost entirely opinion based.

From what I can tell, if you really want to go fast and maximize HP, you go turbo. The power will kick in at some point and accelerate while in boost.

You want a cheaper option that you can bolt on yourself, you go SC. The SC is always boosting, and so in theory you should be able to get better low end and not really effect the power delivery of the stock feeling car. (That's what I want)
