I try not to think about it as better or worse than Ohlins R&T...it's a different market and intended usage. At least that's how I keep myself from crying about not having them.

I wouldn't think twice about driving year round with Ohlins R&T in the snow, on the crappy streets of Baltimore, hitting a few track days, and generally having a good all around time.

However, if I were competing in time attack or w2w, I'd be interested in trying to make Penskes work in my budget. Certainly wouldn't bother with them for the other situation because I ain't got the money.

If you want to compare these Penske shocks to Ohlins setup, then Ohlins TTX will actually cost the same. We've already inquired in the past and nobody on FT86Club was willing to make the commitment.

Thanks Andy. I can always depend on RCE and CSG to have the answers.

So from what you're saying, Penske coilovers are genuine racecar material suitable for professional usage, while others are varying degrees of street/track capable but not necessarily all racecar all the time.

That makes it easy then. I don't own a race car.

I'm not either, as I'm nowhere near needing something like that. The TTX do look very very nice though.

It's not about having a racecar. It's about what your goals are. If you want an extremely good suspension system, Penske is the way to go. However, in order to balance your car's setup with your priorities, you need to make balanced decisions. It's how you see $15k FI builds and Raceland coilovers on some very potent builds. I guess if the car is there to sit and park, there's really no need to do anything to it right?

Why aren't they bright green? Neon anodizing means racecar.

When u see nitride coatings is good indication that they are the business.

Yeah.. I wouldn't want to daily drive on +10k coilovers.. If I was going to use these on a double duty car i'd probably learn how to swap out dampers on this car very quickly. Pit crew status before every track day...

Ya...I'm confused on the rear top mounts too.

And...for all that are implying that they are really only for hardcore race use ...then why is there an option for "Street"??

Lol....$9k for DD street coilovers are a little expensive. Just a little..

There are people that street drive their cars, want that extra edge, and make half a million. I'd imagine street driving would be very limited because those type of people will also own a Merc AMG S class.

At least there's something like this on the market. This shows the diversity of the market for this car.

Everything from cheap knockoff OEM headlights to race spec carbon fiber parts...

A street tuned Penske (and street spring rates) will literally have the comfort of a Lexus, but corner like a Porsche.

I'm totally serious
