People have answered your question.
If you aren't throwing a CEL and you don't hear/notice any strange behavior in your car, then I wouldn't worry. |

If it got that dark that fast, you should monitor your AFR just as a check. You are probably running pig rich. I have 10,000 miles on my car and not a spec of soot that you can see without getting down behind the car to check specifically for it.
My old Speed3, now that had a black exhaust tip, but that was because factory turbo = pig rich mixture.

It's likely just the way the exhaust tips are shaped. My Perrin exhaust makes even a tiny bit of "soot" very obvious on the large smooth surface compared to the stock tips which have lots of edges to catch and hide it.

As Mid_Life_Crisis stated, AFR plays a role. Additionally, be aware that the stock tune is pig-rich, so in stock form this is pretty common. A tune actually would reduce the soot levels some
Neutron256 also makes a valid point too. Tip shape might have impact.

I put JDM GT86 tips on my stock exhaust. Black "soot" more visible without change in driving style. My conclusion: when you mod the car, you notice these small things more. I went back and looked at my stock tips, and lo and behold... they're pretty damn dark too! I just never noticed with a stock exhaust because I wasn't bothering to look. -alex |

Depends on yur driving and if its all city stuff you tend to get more soot , lot of freeway driving and it will be less As others have said tip design can make a difference larger tips run cooler and accumulate more soot you can see Fuel also makes a difference 10 percent ethanol fuels produce less soot nad emmissions as the ethanol aids combustion. Run E85 with appropiate tune and there will be no soot at all perfectly clean :-) These cars being sports cars are generally tuned a bit richer than your family ecno box so you will often see more soot on sports cars |
