Makes sense. Def sucks. I dunno if you've ever been under yours yet, but I'm 6'4" so when I'm under there there's really no extra room for anyone else. Only have 1 set of stands so it's going to be a back and fourth process. Really no way around me doing all of the work 4 times, that's why I was looking to see if the smog place would play but I guess that's not looking like an option lol. Thanks for the help.

My understanding is that the muffler delete has no effect on smog. I have no personally experience, just what I've heard. Same with the intake I think? Just your two cats need to be stock and working properly. Can anybody else confirm that?

Technically speakibg I believe its true, but always swapped mine to be safe.

And also $200 would be cheap. My cousin pays almost $400 to get his SR 240 done.

Intake will have to either be stock or if aftermarket have an Executive Order number clearly listed for the intake. Usually anything past the muffler is ignored or not looked at during a smog.

Any emissions equipment may not be tampered with unless replaced by a California Air Resource Board approved part.

This is your ECU, your intake, your header and your front pipe, cams, cam gears... Anything that has to do with emissions.

Not sure on internal work, I.E. high/low comp pistons, stroker kits etc.

But Im betting that those are a no go also.

I've went to same exact situation went I brought my Stage 2 WRX from Virginia to California. I went to the whole process of working in a friend's small garage working under the car with 4 jack stands, replacing the turboback pipe to stock and replacing it back to stage 2 right after the smog test. I know its a mass amount of time and effort to do this but there is no other way. If you really don't want to go crawl under your car, I recommend to go to Pit Row in Santa Clara so you can work under a lift. If you are going to do this, do this the right way. I'll be at the Wednesday meet up if you want to network some help.

Btw if you have a tune, you must drive your car a good 3-5 days so the ECU can relearn everything. Smog test can pick that up based upon my experience.

Anything after the last emissions device is not part of the emissions inspection. ONLY thing a SMOG fails for parts after a CAT is if there are too many leaks in the exhaust causing a high O2 content then the vehicle fails the sniffer part.

The state started to use scores on technicians and track each car to the technician. Therefore the costs of doing a "Clean piping" went up in California, because if he passes you and later on you take it somewhere else in the future and it says tampered the first technican who did the smog gets a bad score. So yea, its expensive!
