Something not quite right about WRB colour to me
Probably very dirty. And plus, this car is pretty photogenic.

Yep, agree with what's been said here. I was originally set on a SWP until I walked into the dealership and saw the WRB... After that, it was all over - had to have WRB.
The color definitely pops when it's been detailed properly and in the right light. I park mine in our parking deck and it collects brake dust - after a few weeks without a wash, it looks like your first photo. When I get it detailed, it's like a new car. My dealer apparently has a pretty good detail staff: ![]() ![]() Took those the day I bought it using my phone. No editing/retouching. As noted before, a bit of editing (HDR) can make it look ridiculously good, but it's not necessarily accurate:

Also, the dealer can somewhat adequately wash a car, but they don't have the specific knowledge, experience, and equipment that a professional detailer has.

I never liked WRB because every time I saw one at the dealership it was all dirty. I didn't realize that's what it was that kept me from liking it though. One day I took my BRZ to get my free oil change and I saw a freshly washed WRB. It looked ****ing amazing!!! That's when I realized that maybe I made a mistake with SWP. :p
Jk. I love my SWP, but I will admit that I've often wondered what if I had chosen WRB instead. I know I'd be equally happy with both.

Being a pearl paint job, lighting makes a hell of a difference. On a heavily overcast day with diffused lighting, it's going to look quite "flat."

Like others have said, lighting and proper maintenance makes a big difference on the paint. Here's some unfiltered shots of mine covered in dust. Still looks pretty glossy I think.

maybe it was certain year or batch that came with shitty paint. there have been few threads with OP complaining of excessive orange feel and lack of shine.
I did see some just plain flat WRB BRZ at a local dealer and I just saw one few days ago at a local dealer and it looked very shiny with metallic flakes. The first one did not have any metallic flakes at all... Also WRX WRB is very different than WRB BRZ.
