Sorry in advance if this is a noob question. I'm new to all this.

I have the Nameless axle back exhaust and frontpipe/overpipe high flow catalytic converter. I was on FRSport website about to purchase the Tomei UEL header and on the description it said "Note: removes catalytic converter." Will I be able to install it without a problem or do I have to get it remove.

There are two catalytic converters in our cars. One in the front pipe, the primary catalytic converter is in the header. The tomei header will remove the cat located in the header since the tomei header is catless. (Does not contain any catalytic converter) You will still be able to maintain your catalytic converter in the front pipe! Although I highly suggest you get your car tuned after the header install for maximum power gains and to avoid any potential check engine lights that may pop up from removing the primary cat in the header.

I replaced my catback with the Invidia Q300, and I can say that a catless setup can be quiet. Tomei EL, Tomei overpipe, Tomei frontpipe, Invidia Q300.

<Note>: I reside in south east Asia where the weather is perennially hot & humid so the absolute numbers will no way match up to the numbers seen in America or Canada dynos.

Run (1) & Run (2) are done on different days, but on the same dyno.
Run (1) was a cool rainy day, Run (2) was a hot & humid day.

(1) Stock Map with CBE, BPB & Drop In Air Intake

(2) Before and after Tune – UEL, CBE, BPB & Drop In Air Intake

My apologies, i have no stock car map run as i did my dyno run only after i installed all the mods (less header)

In a nutshell, the Tomei UEL performs as what Tomei USA states on their website. No surprises.

Torque dip is almost flat, high-end gains are minimal without a tune. You need to compare graph 1 to graph 2 to see that.

After the tune, the header’s performance gets way better, gains before and after tune is pretty decent. But that is probably down to tuning rather than anything else.

As for the UEL noise, I have heard a JDL setup and compared to this, Tomei is, IMHO, more UEL. The boxer note really shines thru and leaves no one in doubt of the boxer-ness of the exhaust note. But….

The noise is LOUD, make no mistake, it’s not a subtle gentleman’s racer kinda loud, it’s a bellowing thrumming constant blaring loud. But of course, your tastes and mine may differ. You might like it.

If i got the time, i will get a video of the exterior and interior sound. Meanwhile, hope this will do.
This is actually quite a bit more impressive than what Tomei advertise. You yielded a +20hps over baseline while Tomei advertises a +6ps over their baseline. That is a huge difference.

Sorry for the quality. Taken with my cellphone. I drove the car about an hour before so it's not really a cold start.

That one is after the tune (20hp gain). Before the tune, it only gave 2/3 hp more.

That's a very standard occurrence when your cat gets deleted from the system. There's a O2 simulator you can use, but it's never guaranteed. The best way to go is to get a tune to maximize the gains and take out that CEL.

People still buy headers without a tune? That's some expensive noise.

Yeah a Berk muffler delete with a UEL header is loud. Driving to work this morning was an adventure. I think I redlined it on every shift.

Honestly though I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to remove the Berk to daily drive this car now.
Can you get an audio clip? I'd really appreciate it. Picking up a used Berk single exit muffler delete from a local guy this week, and strongly considering buying the Tomei EL as a Christmas present to myself. I'd really like to hear how the setup sounds.

Are those the only mods you've done to the exhaust system? (i.e. no catless front pipe or anything)
