I like this thread, thank you for starting it.. @jebuwh

Anyways, I am searching for an entry-level position..
I have a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Lean Sigma Black Belt training, and my last job consisted of biomedical testing, quality control, and data analysis. Looking for a job in LA/OC or surrounding areas. Thanks

You could try Masimo in Lake Forest/Irvine, they're always hiring folks and they manufacture, test, and QA all kinds of biomedical sensors.

I guess i'm assuming entry-level is between 0-2 years engineering experience. Since many large companies such as SpaceX, Boeing, Toyota, etc. state their job descriptions for Engineers I/II/III.., which coincide with around 0-2, 2-5, 5-10 years of experience, respectfully. However, my biomedical experience applies to a limited amount of what the preferred qualifications are for mechanical specific positions because it was not within an engineering setting.

Well this is a long shot but I'm hopeful... I'm working full-time now @15/hr but in all honesty I want to follow a different career path...maintenance is a crazy field especially with 250+ units. I'm good with computers can read/write html codex. Graphic design/computer arts, entry level CAD..was a music engineer for 3+ years (personal venture) completely re-wired my Starion converted a 4cyl mustang to a v8... well I'd say that's enough rambling but I'm open for whatever really. Don't wish to work graveyard any longer, I did that enough with Angel Stadium..got to make at least 30k/yr as everything is structured around that gross value..(bills and such) anyway fingers are crossed trying to retire the handyman bit. Pm me if you'd be willing to take me on.

If anyone wants to get into visual effects you could teach yourself how to rotoscope in a weekend. Then keep your eyes peeled on vfx job forums for roto artists. You can make 15-40 an hour depending on speed and quality.

You can go from there to compositing or try to explore 3d vfx since youll be surrounded by that stuff. I personally am not fulfilled in this field so I cant recommend it for a career unless you really love art and working for clueless people. You can make decent money with no college if you get good though.

If you wanna try I can recommend you next time im asked if I know anyone. Just give me a pm and make a short demo showing you can rotoscope.

This is still maintenance, but at a better pay grade: https://staffing2.hr.uci.edu/CSS_Ext...0140529173836&

There are other jobs at UCI that might work, too - just peruse their HR website.
