Crickets on ethanol-free 91 here so myth debunked! It just sounds louder than DI HPFPs on other cars, they all make the same cricket sound.

I've noticed a difference in the level of noise between fill-ups from different gas stations, but the sample size is far too small to make any significant claims. I have found a station that has consistently kept noise low. If I need to buy gas elsewhere, the noise usually comes back by the time I've gotten 1/16 through the tank. e10 93 always used.
