@SnyperSuicide
Since the accident happened on a Sunday(4/27), its only been 10 business days. Granted, that does seem like a while, but since everyone is out of the office(which is weird haha) I would wait until the 12th, since they are claiming that no one can tell you anything about the claim until then. Plus, your insurance didnt even get any photos/info from the body shop until this past week. I'm not surprised about the delay on this, if they truly are out of the office until the 12th. I dont think there is much you can do at this point, except wait. |

I've called the agent, all the 800 numbers that are given on the National General website, my agent's supervisor; I've even tried doing the online chat option they have on their website, but either no one can help me or they're ignoring me. Quote:
BUT my sister's friend got into an accident the day after me and everything was finalized for her earlier this week. Even if it's been 10 business days, I've been calling since Tuesday and I've left plenty of messages. They only went on vacation today. They had Tuesday through yesterday to return my many voicemails. No matter how you look at it, they're ignoring me, my calls, and my auto shops calls. But yeah, all I can do is wait. That's what sucks. Who knows how long this joker is going to take just to get the paperwork finalized and then it's going to take another 3 weeks to get my baby fixed. I just want my Sapphire back already!!

Well this story sucks. I have AAA and I was in an accident three weeks ago. I still haven't gotten my car back. However, my insurance only took 3 days to get everything settled. So, I say waiting 10 days without an answer is a load of crap on their end... I hope you get this settled asap. being car-less is no good >.>

One of your posts said they're out until the 12th. I would wait until the 12th and see if they say anything... if not...lawyer up... I think what they need next from you is a statement which is recorded and tells the insurance company what happened from your POV. So if I can remember... Accident File a claim Go to bodyshop for estimate Send estimate to insurance Prove a recorded statement to the insurance company Insurance Approves / Does not approve claim If Approved --> Bodyshop will repair. If not approved --> Body shop will repair out of pocket. After repairs -- Pay deductible to the bodyshop. And then it gets complicated if the other party wants to sue you.

I'm just waiting for the insurance to approve (or not approve) of the estimate the auto body shop gave them (the insurance company). They're just taking their sweet time and ignoring my calls. It's disappointing because I only had a simple question to ask my agent regarding whether the other party's insurance had contacted him. I have a feeling I'm going to have to take legal action. I'm pretty sure the other side isn't suing. Should I call the other guy's insurance and see what's going on?? I don't want to give away that I'm having problems with my insurance and give them a reason to sue... If that makes sense. Also just wondering, on what basis are they able to drop me or deny me of coverage? I've seen a couple responses with people saying that the insurance can just drop my policy... This is really scaring me. =/ |
