Volunteer for the SCCA is great! I get to see the action for free and I got free lunch as well!

Can you give more info on this? I get the emails but I wasn't sure if I was eligible to volunteer.. are there any requirements? What exactly did you do that whole day?

I just stood at the SCCA booth for six hours, talked about autocross to people that approached the booth, danced in front of the Mountain Dew booth while they played EDM, got free swag from SRT and Chevy , got free lunch, and watched the races. And I spent no money at all except the gas to get to there.

You just say you want to volunteer when you reply to the e-mails, they will give you a job, a free ticket to the event, and that's pretty much it I guess. The next major event that requires SCCA volunteers I believe is the Rolex historical event in August so watch your Inbox. The only requirements is the willingness to give your time.
