Which mod should I got for?

Hey guys and gals

I bought my BRZ 2 weeks ago, and am absolutely loving it. It is currently my DD, but will become a weekend-only car around September or October. Currently, I have upgraded the door and rear speakers, rear seat delete, and plastidipped all the interior trim to get rid of that nasty silver color. I have a Perrin 3" catback on the way, along with a catless downpipe and overpipe from Top Speed Performance. I have also ordered some dark smoked side markers and a sharkfin antenna.

Currently, I can afford one more mod, and it will probably be my last before I install FI around November.

What would you suggest? I have a budget of $1K. I'm torn between a set of coilovers to lower the car, a set of brakes, and some Lexon BeatSoinic LED tail lights.

If your budget is 1k I would stay away from coilovers. Get a BBK!

Bbk really isnt necessary unless you track it. Header is a good idea unless you're going turbo then it could end up being a waste. Ecutek? Your probably going to end up buying it anyway. Or some wheels? My rota titans were cheap and lighter than stock. Wheeldude has good prices on packages. 1000 on coilovers doent get you much. I picked up a set of used springs and its holding me over until I can budget more for the suspension. FI took a good chunk of funds and now I'm looking into shortblocks so suspension might have to wait even longer.

Sometimes this forum feels like it's full of 5 year olds who just got handed $5 in a candy store.

You don't have to spend money to appreciate the car. I'd put the money in the bank and get a good set of tires once the stockers wore out, same for brake pads.

I've been accused of being anti-mod, I'd prefer pro-frugal. The fact that your options are so wildly different, you don't have a goal in mind, you just have money burning a hole in your pocket.

Edit: Only get BBK if you have experienced brake fade that can't be solved with different pads and fresh fluid. Otherwise it's just for looks.

If you go turbo I imagine you'll be able to sell the header without much of a loss, but that's a valid consideration nonetheless.

If you want brakes for cosmetic reasons my suggestion is finding front calipers off a WRX, cleaning them up and using them. They can be had for a cool $200 if you shop around a bit, the JDM import places have them off their front clips and usually let them go for a good price.

I'll second the save it comment. Now I bought the under $1000 coilovers because I wanted to do a mod. I don't regret it. I also want wheels and I could do it, but its like why would I want to do that and then struggle for a 2 months trying to save money back up. I learned with my truck which I put $12000 worth of mods into it, it's not worth doing it quick. Slowly progress through the mods and take your time. The rewards are much more better that way
