Sweet bike and isn't that a great ride? Hwy 1 is fantastic. Rode that on my friend's mom's Ducati 696 a couple months ago. So nice

My two active rides: 1975 R75/6 and 2003 Aprilia Falco, both with some conservative, but tasteful mods.

Oh dear, I suppose I'll add to this thread. A couple years ago, I bought a very clean 2012 Honda CBR125 off a friend for a steal. Figured it would last me a year or two and I'd be able to get the basics of riding down pat before moving onto anything bigger.
Here it is: Untitled by colekmiecik, on FlickrI regret getting rid of that bike very much. I only owned it for about 15 days until I sold it off to buy a '99 R6. With my limited knowledge, and 19 year old hubris I bought the R6 without taking a good enough look at it, I was amazed by how it rode when I test rode it and just had to have it: IMG_1235 by colekmiecik, on FlickrThe short of the long is that it had a laundry list of shit that had to get fixed on it. Something to the tune of $2500 on a bike I bought for $2200. The engine ended up throwing a rod and I sold it off for $900. Every now and then I see it pop up on local classifieds, still not fixed and half parted out. I'd really like to get another bike in the coming year, hopefully I can get some extra money put aside, but with buying a house hopefully soon and ridiculous insurance rates (I was quoted at 11.5k per year on the R6, so I had to get my dad as the primary rider on it which brought it down to 600 per year) I just don't think it's in the cards just yet. |

SWEET!!!
I always wanted to do that to mine. I had a copper '03 SV1000S with full M4 exhaust, Corbin seat, rear cowl, billet Italian mirrors, etc, etc, lots of custom titanium and carbon and bead blasted finishes. Those are epic little motors! The swap that required the least work (as I recall) was an '05(?) GSXR-750. I was too lazy and cheap to jump on one. ![]() Good work and keep us posted!

I'm hoping to have it ridable tomorrow, albeit with no headlight or gauges. That's if I can drive these outer bearing races home without special tooling |

I used to ride motorcycles. That all came to an end 04/13/14, when I involved in a near fatal wreck on I-24. Here are my bikes that I've owned.
*2005 Suzuki GSX-R Hayabusa : Sold *2013 Yamaha Raider S : Literally in two pieces. Currently being stored at my home. Has less than 900 miles on the odometer. Maybe one day I will get around to rebuilding it. Great times out there on two wheels
