Just curious to know, are all those individual pieces welded together instead of mandrel bent? Is it more difficult to bend titanium compared to s/steel?

What is the % difference in labour time to manufacture that over pipe compared to the s/steel version?

Yes all individual pieces. Yes its difficult and expensive to bend the titanium. Most places with mandrel benders don't like to do it either as it is very hard on the tooling. The pipe probably could have been made with less pieces but my goal was to keep the angle of the pieces small so the pipe stayed very smooth throughout.

I'd say it took about 8x longer

Very interested in the GTX3071R numbers, that turbo seems to be relatively unexplored in the FR-S/BRZ scene. We know both the GTX2867 and GTX3076 work really well, so will be interesting to see how the "middle-man" 3071 performs.

I know the GTX3071 is a pretty sweet turbo on the VW/Audi FSI platform.

Please tell me you using the EFR 7163 ?

I would recommend this!

The 3 inch overpipe is a monster, huge, the TI Version should help shed alot of weight.

You have to take the flanges into consideration and JDL uses pretty heavy duty stuff so it adds on to the weight, but damn the whole thing looks good. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the TI stuff.

I dont think I know anyone maxing out a 3076 atm, and very little if anyone maxing out the 28's on this platform. I have a friend who made I think 498WHP on a 2867 .63. I am on a 3071 .82 my self and I never got around to maxing it out (as I planned on doing). The last dyno I did was on E20 (i think) @ ~380WHP and the car was sitting at estimated ~500WHP @ low 20's PSI but it is parked currently as I need to do work on it and it is just too damn hot out to deal with it. I was expecting around the 600-650WHP mark if / when we maxed the turbo out. Mind you I have a built engine with slightly lowered compression.

If you are looking for more than 500 the 30 is great, or if you are looking for higher power on pump gas as the EGT is lower and you can get a few HP more with a 30/35 hot side than a 28. But if you are running a "quality" fuel and are doing less than 500 the 28's are fantastic, honestly I wish i just had a 2863/67 on my own car as I really don't need the power I have now.

You have to remember #'s are really whatever you want to set them to on E85 on this car. On other cars people are maxing a turbo out and thats why certain turbos are known to make certain power. On this platform it is rare to see anyone max a turbo out. Hell bob @ driftoffice did over 400WHP on the AVO kit recently...

Agreed the 2863 on mine is basically ridiculous and I was last at 425whp and still had room for a lot more on E85 with just timing alone. Prior to that I had the 2867 and the 63 definitely spools faster with the loss of some max HP. I have driven both a precision equivalent to the 30 series gtx's and an actual gtx3071 on this platform and in my opinion the 28 series is just more fun on this platform.

I will probably choose to go with the 2867R when I go the FI route. Initially my car will be run on crappy 91 Octane (California type gas) with the idea of adding a FlexFuel kit later on.

E85/Ethanol isn't available at any pump in South Africa, we have to buy 55 gallon drums from chemical suppliers and store that, so it will be used more for "special occasions".

Boost response and 400whp on E blend is what i'm looking for but I also need to factor in the effects of 5000ft elevation.
