I paid close to $35K when I checked out with mine. I added a 5-axis kit, radio, trunk carpet, warranty, clear bra, and maintenance. It is surprising how fast it all adds up when checking out. So, $35K might not be as much profit as you were thinking. IT all depends what was included in the car.

I plan to be incredibly immature with my FR-S... Safe but very, very immature. Also I think you're looking at the wrong guy about Utah.

Bwahahahahaha. Tell that to all the assholes in the ghetto that drive $60000 Escalades and collect welfare!!! . . . My point is that people(many/most) make silly and irrational impulse decisions all the time, especially when money is involved. |

Well for those complaining I said the A word without spelling it out, I corrected the post. I'm not trying to get flagged or etc. There are not enough FR-S's to go around, the are very limited to each dealer & some people aren't able to get them in their general area and would have to go out of state to get one if available. This gentleman can do what he would like with his vehicle sell it, keep it; auction it or burn the damn thing. I was just making a valid point that its a shame for others that would love to have this vehicle! I have no problem with getting one, I could have placed mine on order yesterday afternoon. So if the Forum gods need to slam the hammer on me or lock this thread, so be it. I have eliminated name calling in my post here forth.

Why are we so concerned? Someone's being capitalistic, it happens everyday. Think about that instead of some lone asshole trying to flip his car.

just to clarify i was not calling anyone names, but was just saying i do not support D Baggery and if his intentions were to scoop up a car to sell for an instant huge profit by trying to take advantage of the situation, then that to me would classify as D-Baggery.
COnsider me clarified lol

I find nothing unethical, unsavory, or dishonest about the guy trying to make a few bucks on the car. He did nothing dishonest to acquire the car. If there is an opportunity to earn a profit thanks to current supply/demand dynamics, then why not take advantage of the situation. As long as he didn't falsify information, do anything illegal in the process of buying/selling (like title flipping), then I can't see anything wrong with the attempt to earn a profit. It's just a car.. they will make more of them. |

That is two totally scenarios my friend. Your using your knowledge & skill to gain extra income. Your putting time & money to make profit. That's like me working at the recording studio & also selling beats on the side.

If he can take this car, magically switch the side I'm driving on, replace all the Scion badges with Toyota/GT-86 I'm sold... Until then I'll wait until my BRZ comes in.

I do not disagree with you but that is not how it works. Several of the First 86ers have backed out and the cars just become part of the dealer allocation and go to the first buyer that wants them and has the cash or credit to buy it. I am 99% sure that I know where there is one right now that will go unclaimed. If I was a betting man I would put money on the bet that at least 20% of the cars meant to be bought by First 86 will go unclaimed.
