Dadhawk, you are a good man... I would have done the same thing!

I guess I should probably put my 2 cents in, since I'm the one selling the car. I didn't plan on selling it when I bought it, nor did I plan on selling it up until about midnight last night. I was ungodly excited when it fell into my lap, and I still believe I'm very fortunate to be in the situation I am regarding this car, but now for different reasons. If I am able to make a profit from this and have it help my family, then I at least have to try. When I weigh the pros and cons of keeping it, all the pros come out seeming selfish since it only benefits me. I'm not selling it to try to work the system and put a down payment on another FR-S.

I set the price up to $35,000 and BIN to $40,000 because I'm not anywhere near 100% sure I want to get rid of this car and I was unsure anyone would actually pay that. If someone does pay this, then I financially come out ahead and am able to help someone very close to me. If they don't then I end up being able to keep a phenomenal car and at least have the thought that I tried in my back pocket and will find other means to help. I already work 65 hour weeks for a non-profit and have looked into finding other jobs, just not successfully. I wasn't even looking to buy the 370z that day, I just wanted to take a look at it and talk shop.

I do respect the car and have followed the development from it's first concept to waiting to hear a release date. Driving fun cars has always been a part of my life, but right now that part is growing smaller by the day and there are other things I need to focus on. I apologize if I de-valued what this forum or being one of the First 86 stands for in anyway, and as I said, this was NOT my intent until very recently.

So... there all that is.

Sincerely,

You'd think Toyota was selling these under cost just for the betterment of the "community".

All right, now that that has been settled. No more calling the seller a DB, or I will reprimand you.

He can do whatever he wants with his car. We can all follow the auction and all say it's too high of a price, but in no way will we insult the seller. He has his own reasons for doing things, noble or otherwise.

Thank you. And don't make me use my hammer. We are all friends here.

I am sorry if this is kinda rude to ask. But why would you go buy a new car if you know that you have a family member that needed help? I mean the car buying process surely takes more than 5 mins right? I am sorry but it is just a little hard for me to believe.

I'm saying you're lair of trying to help someone in the family. HOWEVER

if a family member was really in need of help, you wouldn't even have had bought the car in the first place. OR even in the market of buying a new car in $25K range first OR even thought of buying anything in that range let a alone a car

it just doesn't make sense to me, that a family member needs help but you go buy a $28K car.

i call it slight bs. dont use excuses like that. i think you could have thought of some better excuses
