I play, but all my physical cards are super old school. I only do modern/standard stuff via duels of the planeswalkers via Steam and all that.

I'm actually looking to pick up dual lands and old cards, let me know if you decide to sell. Probably wouldn't mind picking up the whole thing if it's got stuff I need.

I used to play this game all the time. I miss playing and would love to get back into it if someone is talking about a game night or something.

Dual lands are definitely worth something now, too.

As for a meet-up or something... maybe we can figure something out. Either buy a booster box and draft, or if someone has a cube, we could cube draft. Great way to play, but keep costs down especially since many of us have come from different blocks and formats.

Maybe draft Theros/Theros/Theros or M14/M14/M14??

True, I think that would be cool -- but for people who don't want to buy cards. We can play standard as well, no real need to draft, though i'd be down with that.

If people want to play different sets in combination i'm okay too. I just lost all my old stuff so I'd love to see stuff like winter's orb + rack + vice =P

I like Standard, but that requires people from other formats/blocks to build decks which involves money. Draft is really the easiest. If we shop around for Theros or M14, probably could find a booster box for $90. We could be drafting for less than $10/person.

I was thinking about putting together a pauper cube with some stuff from the Return to Ravnica and Theros block.

I've always thought it was a bit tricky to do deck construction in such a short period of time. It usually takes me a number of hours to get a deck where I want it, but I suppose that's part of the draft experience - being able to construct something competitive in a short period of time.

I tend to not like the newer cards/rules too much, I stopped buying cards after Avacyn Restored. If we don't draft I'd be fine with pretty much "anything goes" type rules, since it sounds like it will be pretty casual I doubt people are going to be busting out power 9.

I agree, but everyone is in the same boat, right? Everyone just kind of throws their deck together in the allotted time.

I've never seen any of the Power 9 in real life...

True, if enough people come then yeah about 10 bucks a person is reasonable.

agreed -- if anything goes, i'm glad about that. I hate all the rules above avacyn restored, but there are nice hydras there.
