10 Day outlook (scroll down) looks promising. About the only issue could be morning fog making for a slick track for the higher powered cars during the first stint shown by the temp/dew point spread.

Jon, I was hoping you'd come. If everyone talking about it registers, it could be a record turnout of twins.

Did you install cambers plates and LCA's yet?

Honestly, I was hoping for rain at least half the day, makes for even more excitement and car control focus at lower speeds. Not to mention that I'm running rain tires and am looking for any advantage with my stocker.

Looks like 3 of us so far. I'd be surprised if Doug doesn't show up.

Haven't done anything with camber plates or LCA's yet. That's a project for this winter. Got to mind how I spend my money, (old retired guy on fixed income!) right now I'd rather spend it on track time than on the car.

Doesn't look like you're going to get your wish for rain, but at least you'll have 1 other stocker to play with.

I just read the rules for AROO and completely spaced the requirement for gloves. Is there any place local to get good driving gloves? I can run with my motorcycle gloves but they are a bit more "substantial" than I need for driving a car.

Also, are you guys going into the advanced or intermediate group. I was going to sign up for advanced but noticed that they asked us to instruct & ride with the novices but don't know how comfortable I am with that. I don't want to get stuck with a pack of cars that is substantially slower either. AROO is a new event to me so not sure how they run things.

Why'd you have to call me out like that Jon?

I'll be signing up after I do a quick once over check of all the wear items from last weekend. No sense in coming if I have more backing plate than brake pad remaining!

I'm gonna go to Cycle Gear to look at gloves, I'll let you know if they carry single layer driving ones. If not I may need to burrow my moms gardening gloves.

Yeah, we discussed the AROO motorsports glove requirement same time last year. After calling around, nobody locally carries them and it would've been too late for Amazon Prime delivery so used my bicycle gloves as usual. On the day, nobody checked or cared anyway. One thing they did check was helmet rating and one guy was called out for having an M vs. S rating until he showed the tech guy the printout of their rules stating that it was OK so print out that page just in case. The current requirement is Snell SA2005/M2010 or newer on their site. I don't think they checked dates last year, either.

It looked like instructing is an option, not required. I don't think they can make you climb into a car with any novice without providing you with liability insurance at their expense. The novice would claim you were screaming at them to gas it everywhere.

I have sailing gloves that has open tips, you think that'll be good enough for a racing glove for this event? I used them for auto-X and provided me with good grip with feels still left on my fingers.
