Summer track days sign up for PIR & ORP for beginners and up

Maybe he shouldn't have gotten help with his "turbo boost". That was one of the strangest PA announcements I've ever heard. Felt bad for that poor SOB THOUGH. Were there 3 or 4 wrecks yesterday?

There were the Subaru and the Radical shunts with damage. A few other debris incidents, but not aware of a 3rd wreck.

Doug and Brandon did a good job pressuring me into going to the AROO event on Sunday. If weather is good I'll be hitting that event this coming Sunday.

If forecast doesn't change tomorrow, I will be signing up. Did you guys get your race gas at the track or buy it else where? I've heard its better to run a tank of race gas on the street before hitting the track so the ECU can adjust.. Unless ours relearn on the spot.

Not really needed, going to a higher octane won't hurt the engine. Just pour it in and thrash, though you might be slightly down on power while the ecu adjusts for slightly more timing. Going back to pump though, you probably want to take it a little easy.

And both Kevin and I got ours at NW Solvents in Portland. Be prepared, it's almost $20 a gallon.

Did you get it the day before? Does it hold the octane rating in a plastic gas tank over night? If this is the case, why not just pour in Octane booster from a store?

It comes in a metal 5 gallon pail, I assume it lasts just fine as long as its sealed. A rep from VP said that oxygenated race fuels are like soda, the more you open it the flatter it gets. I expect that even then the octane is still signifigantly higher than pump gas.

Octane booster is usually just an additive package designed to make the fuel burn more slowly. Not sure of the specifics, but if it really worked well, I'm pretty sure I'd see more people using it than paying out the ass for real high octane fuel.
